Hal stammered for good measure but he replied quite honestly,

"Your necklace... It's very pretty" he said.

The Duchess nodded while the Ladies she had been discussing with mostly ignored Hal and just took sips from their glasses filled with cultivational brew.

"Yes, it is, isn't it? A Gift from my husband... A sign of the love we have the each other" she said.

"He must really love you," Hal said and he raised his head a tad to look into the Duchess's eyes.

As the Duchess stared into his brown eyes, there was a sort of imposition of a different color that was quite enticing to her and drew her in.

It was as though there was a deeper quality to those ordinary browns that she suddenly got an urge to peer even deeper into.

Also, what was that sweet and enticing scent that was suddenly starting to pervade the hut?
