Chapter 61: A Den of Wolves

Bilal and his family were tired. But he thought about how instrumental books would be to his son's education. He was thinking about encyclopedias and dictionaries and not just beginner primers. He knew that his son would pick up reading very quickly. Maybe he should get books on languages. His son's other father was Korean and had learned to speak it as a child. Bilal himself spoke many different languages as did all Centaurians. Yes his son's education would have to begin in earnest.

Bilal exited the truck first, telling Carmella to stay inside while he scented the air. He could tell that there hadn't been humans here in decades. The dank wet fur smell of wolf let him know that they owned this neighborhood—as they did with most of the world now. But he didn't smell any in the vicinity.
