Crazy man

"Wu Jinyan.. can you hear me?" Gu Zichen called her name softly and carefully as though he was speaking to a child but his considerate action was to no avail. He found no reaction in her face, her coldness twisted his heart.

Her eyes had no glow whatsoever in them and they appeared completely soulless. Her face was devoid of any expression and appeared rigid like that of a wooden doll. The reality he was facing was throbbing and far from the imagination he had in his head.

The wide smile and the sparkling eyes he wished to see were nowhere to be found.

The doctors examined her body and said she was undoubtedly alright. The doctors were confident to such an extent that all the tubings connected to her body were removed saying they were unnecessary and declared she could leave the hospital after a few days of observation.

Contrary to their reassuring words, Wu Jinyan showed no movement. She kept staring at the ceiling with a vacant gaze like a child lost in an unfamiliar world.

She could have at least blinked her eyes on hearing his voice but nothing noticeable came from her that could lower the anxiety and pain welled up in his heart.

Disappointment clouded his eyes. Not losing hope, he called her name once more but lost the fight again. He masked the dullness filling his eyes with a faint smile as he inhaled deeply. He could only wait patiently for her to come out of her blankness and hope that she would respond to him soon.

Initially, he thought her cold attitude towards him when he visited her at her apartment was because she was angry because of the meeting she previously attended. But even after a week of her being in a coma, she was still the same, avoiding him, giving him cold shoulder.

He would have been a bit relieved if she threw tantrums like a spoiled woman but she was utterly silent and unresponsive to the level he almost went crazy wanting to pull his hair out.

Thinking her attitude would change upon his explanation, Gu Zichen said while holding her arm "Wu Jinyan, I swear I made sure Team leader Su, Su Huiling can never get employed in any of the companies in the city. How dare she to talk ill of you.."

How could he leave that woman untroubled when she called his wife a rowdy and uncouth woman? He taught her a good lesson so that she would know her position.

Wu Jinyan was still unbothered in replying to him and stared blankly at the white ceiling as if something interesting was happening over there.

'Oh god! What kind of game are you playing with me?' Gu Zichen was dispirited and pursed his lips as he felt like smashing his head against the wall.

He never expected in his entire life that one day he would be this anxious just because a woman didn't respond to him. What's wrong with him?

Watching Gu Zichen's actions, Mu Feng shook his head faintly and gave a light chuckle.

As that one person who stayed by her side for almost three years and witnessed her tantrums from every angle, he knew Wu Jinyan's habits and her ways of handling matters very well. He could easily guess the reason behind her massive revulsion towards Gu Zichen.

It could be either she lost her memories and failed to recognise Gu Zichen or she held some kind of grudge against him and had no intention to speak with him.

Thinking of her childish mentality, Mu Feng smiled looking at her face and said "Jinyan... I'm glad you're safe"

In return, Wu Jinyan blinked and smiled back with her pupils focused on him. Yes, Mu Feng was right, she held a big grudge against someone, you know who.

This act was nothing major in comparison to his other achievements, but Gu Zichen felt as though he was defeated even before the war had started. He stared at Wu Jinyan with his eyes wide open and mouth agape as he felt the world around him crumbling.

'Why are you doing this to me?' Gu Zichen muttered in his head. It was Little Bunny before and now his cousin, Mu Feng. What better qualifications do they have for her to respond to them but avoid him?

What on earth did he do for her to be that cold towards him? She did not look at him since the moment she opened her eyes but now she smiled at Mu Feng.

He didn't understand why she was reacting actively towards others while his efforts were all drowning in vain. He was her husband who looked after her without sleeping for a whole week but she was totally unconcerned about him.

Like a student who lost the favour of his favourite teacher, he lowered his head to hide his agony.

"Jinyan, how are you feeling?" Mu Feng asked in a concerned tone. He couldn't bother about the other man anymore and jumped straight to strike up a conversation with his friend.

"I'm fine" Wu Jinyan mumbled and smiled lightly. Her eyes sparkled like diamonds as her face emitted a glow. For her, this man broke through all the fears engulfing him. He finally wrote a song that was like an elixir which brought her back to her senses.

She was now energetic enough to go on a marathon but with the way how Mu Feng looked at her with concern, she restrained herself from jumping around. She was grateful to him for being by her side. She wouldn't make the other party worry about her. She tried her best to control her enthusiasm.

"That's good. Doctors said you can leave after two days. I'll take you home" Mu Feng nodded as he gave a side glance to Gu Zichen.

Hearing Mu Feng's words, Gu Zichen was enraged to death and almost spat blood.

Home! Who's home?

"Who are you to take my wife out? And whose house are you referring to as her home?"

"Wherever she wants to stay will be her home. Do you have some problem?"

"Yes. There's only one place that can be called her home and that's my house"

Wu Jinyan felt a headache coming with the voices echoing in the room. She tried to sit up on the bed when both the men approached her to help her move but she instinctively avoided Gu Zichen's touch and took support from only Mu Feng.

"Feng, who's this crazy man? He keeps calling me his wife?" Wu Jinyan asked throwing a contemptuous gaze at Gu Zichen.
