She frowned at the door.

After all the uproar they had caused the previous afternoon, she would not set foot outside of 'grandmother's domain' even if the Grandee himself ordered her to. So no, she wasn't obeying the wolf at all when she decided to stay, no more than she would obey anyone else's orders.

She stripped naked and a second later, she ducked under the water device, activating the magical sigil of water and fire deftly carved into the mechanism.

The water cascaded down and she tilted her face, letting out a weary sigh. She leaned her forehead against the wall as the water washed the confusion away from her.

Hurt or confused, excited or angry, happy or sad. In fact, she had experienced more emotions since meeting the stupid wolf than in all her years of life combined. It was as if something had been activated that day in the forest, something that with every second kept pushing to go out into the world.
