Assassination?! (2)

Morning came and the sun was up and slowly it's getting hot. The driver last night already started driving. Artirian was the first to wake up from the slumber of the two of them. He was looking at the scenery when Elaine woke up with a sleep crust on her eyes. He would then look at Elaine who was just suddenly awakened by the heat produced by the sunlight.

He would then give her a loaf of bread and a hot drink of garniel that earlier he grounded and boiled for both of them. Artirian would then ask with an excited tone of voice "Are we close to your grand kingdom my princess Elaine" He would smirk as he said those words.

Elaine would pinch Artirian to his side and then punch his left arm that has a wound on then as Artirian felt Elaine punch he would cry out for the pain he felt. Elaine would smirk but she would say "Sorry I didn't mean it heh.." She rolled her eyes then went back to sit on the opposite side. Artirian would still feel the pain that lingers throughout his whole body but he would rather control his anger than to explode it all out on Elaine.

The carriage driver would stop and go down and knock on the carriage door. Artirian would peek and open the door and the carriage driver would say in a calm manner of voice "Sir we are here at the Latenian Kingdom border gate and also I can no longer enter beyond that gate as I am just a carriage driver with only a pass of one document."

Artirian agreed on the terms of the carriage driver so Elaine and Artirian would get off the carriage and head out to the main road. As both of them to the main road they would see the blooming trees and the flowers that were already bloomed they would see some wagons that are hurriedly trotting towards the gate. As they walk much closer they would see a border gate with 10 knights with a shining armor and 20 conscripts which have spear weapons. Artirian would still be wearing his mask and while his armor was not that heavy as it was very light armor it is good for agile movements and speed attacks.

Once they reached a few meters from the border gate. They got halted, as the captain knight would signal them to halt their position as they would see the signal of the captain knight Artirian and Elaine would stand still and wait for the knight to come to them. The captain knight would signal the 3 knights to join him and walk towards the newcomers for an evolution check. Artirian would be calm and collected while Elaine was quite nervous and little worried because this is the first time that she would undergo an evaluation check. Because of her high status in the kingdom she never went through something like the evaluation check as this scene became her first time to be halted by her own knights on the border gate.

The knights would get familiar with Elaine; they would narrow their eyes and stare at her before realizing that she was the princess of the kingdom. The knight would quickly kneel and offer their sword to the princess. And Elaine would just smile and her nervousness and worriedness has suddenly woosh gone. Artirian on the other hand would feel a daring gaze because of the knights eyes. Then after that Elaine would be giving a soft gentle smile the knights were like starstruck by the princess and as they stood up and sheathed their sword they would ask why she was not with the escort of the kingdom Royal elite guards.

She replied with a silent gaze on the knight and the knight would get the meaning of that gaze. Soon enough another carriage would be brought to them to enter the border of the Latenian Kingdom. Elaine would look at Artirian and smile. She would then ask " What if I got married to you Artirian would you accept?" she would look at Artirian eyes. And thus Artirian replied as he looked at the window "M'lady we only been close for only 3 weeks more or less your likeness of me is only infatuation and it will die down soon if I leave this palace soon." Elaine would be shocked at what Artirian said and she would be little down as she clenched his fist and looked at the window.

Soon they will reach the city of Lecornian which is the capital city of the kingdom. The gates were tall and wide, the guards were well disciplined and well mannered, the streets were clean but in the alley there are still the classes that will only show that in the continent of lectacoriam the classes of people dictate who you are.

After that they would reach the palace at the innermost gates. The door was opened and they would meet layers of servitude maids and butlers. And layers of Royal Elite guards with their gold armor and their mysterious helmets. The king would hurriedly want to meet her daughter so after the door was opened he quickly ran towards the carriage as earlier before the carriage arrived he just received the information that her daughter arrived at the southern border gate that borders the argana plains which is a dangerous place.

The convoy escort where the princess was riding was planned to be kidnapped by an unknown force but in a most luckily way she was saved by an unknown masked man. The king physique was elegantly presentable, the king was a bit chubby and he had a goatee beard and he would have curly hair and cider colored hair. His face would be chubby.

Once the door was opened Elaine would be seen walking down and next was the masked man. Artirian is around 5'8 his physique is quite well built, he would still be wearing his mask which has a design of 3 scratches. Next is his outfit which is a shadow colored cape and brown colored leather armor with chainmail so that Artirian can still move freely and be able to still increase his speed once he is attacking or clashing with other opponents.

The king of Latenian was not looking at classes as he treated Artirian with respect. Even though he is boasting for what he has, Artirian ignores this way of boasting because all of the fine nobles in the Empire, always try to boast their materialistic things to other people so they would look rich and all powerful. Then Artirian and Elaine would enter the castle Dreafford.

The castle was well built and its walls are higher and thicker from the looks of it. It is inside the city wall and behind the city wall there are inner and inner walls that layers to protect the castle. The castle also has a drawbridge which allows the castle to know when the people are allowed to go inside and outside. Artirian would not look amazed on what he sees because in Moon Scar City it is much more developed but on the down side the classes of people are vividly seen throughout the whole city.

After that they would enter the courtyard of the castle. It was full of sculptures and plants that made the courtyard an interesting place to procrastinate and have fun. Different kinds of flowers were blooming left and right. The freshness of the air inside the castle was amazing; it felt relaxing as it was like a marvelous open field. Once you enter the castle the first thing you will see are the halls and banners of each noble family that swear allegiance to the kingdom of Latenian.

Upon entering the castle there would see portraits of the previous Kings and Queens and the royal family. While each hallway there are Royal Elite guards to be seen each side. As they always carry a weapon and from the looks of it they are prepared for anything that can happen. Then they would enter the throne room which is spacious enough for a whole crowd to gather near the throne.
