Chapter 1Prologue

Rough sounds of keyboard being tapped resounds. The one uses such speed to type on it left an impression he were in a depressed state of mind in the moment.

But this belief lacks in truth, he did as such with an intention to solely overcome his ever grows boredom and also because he was too accustomed using it in such manner.

Bright screen from his old computer became the only source of light which illuminates his small one hundred square feet room where a video game were being played on.

"Come on, come on."

He bit his thumbnail as he says those words repeatedly and stopped when his flesh accidentally became the victim of the act.

"Ouch."

Glanced on his ugly looking finger, a small drop of crimson blood dripped from it to the board. There were no more nails for him to bite nor chew.

All the biting he did leaded to the damaged skin around the poor thing, which were deformed with frequent abuse that had been done for years and an addiction he built since he was a kid he could not stop.

Thus, his teeth were sharp enough to tear the soft tissues.

He wiped the blood off with what appear to be a piece of folded up black cloth, he got in the drawer under the desk which he clearly didn't mind dirties it and gave his focus on the screen once again, where he placed his bet on a Gacha with in-game currency he had exchanged with his real money.

Jörmungandr, the title which was given to the game from its developers whose company gained recognition recently because of it.

A new open world pc video game released almost two years ago by the company which located in South East Asia got buyers increases in number each day.

For the reason of its charms, differed it with other games out there that loses popularity despite been released in less than three months.

Because gamers were bored of the same genres they bought from other companies. Horror, Shooting, Survival and games of these kinds filled all the known game stores.

They want Fantasy to conquer the market once more like it had long ago when it was in its golden age.

Year two thousand till two thousand and four where technology weren't remarkably advanced and games were only two dimensional. Back then when electronic devices were been made stupidly large.

Those were the times this genre flourished, an uncountable games were produced and now. In spite of the cutting-edge technology existence, they were hardly found in stores and it all mostly bad.

The thirst of playing these games in three dimension with first-rate graphics built in every gamers very being and him without exception.

They awaited for some company to heed their wish to prosper this genre again and years of those waits weren't fruitless.

The company seized a chance every sane person could see and exploited it as good as they could to attract fantasy game lovers like him which were the majority from the gamers group.

The outcome was obvious, their name became talks in the media since then.

There were others who tried to in the past and even now in the present, yet never finished in doing so. In addition, those that had, failed miserably because they only did it to gain money and not to gave players an enjoyable games they could play.

The MMORPG game world builds were massive with its variety of characters (monsters), players could chose to play from the classic fantasy creatures to modern ones were undoubtedly tempting.

Such as Zombie and Slenderman which the developers made it as one of monsters in the Doppelganger family, more than five million people played this game now.

There were many of them, made new players hard to search the characters they wanted out of those many list of creatures.

However, it all were solved through the latest update when those developers put a search bar in it after they heard some complaints came from the users.

Before, they need to scroll down to search in the characters list to find the monsters they want to chose, which would take quite a bit of time.

"Fuck."

A word slipped out of his mouth. He swore after spent all the allowance he got for this month and still didn't get the prize he wanted from the mini game.

The irritation he felt couldn't get the better of his composure and make him mad, since the money wasn't his to begin with, it was his parent's.

They would give another allowance for the next month, though what annoys him was the time he need to wait.

However, he would spend all his days in his room in front the computer while plays the game regardless of time like he always did.

He rarely wash himself as he were in here and only does if he really need to, if he feels itchy and sticky all over his body or if there were too much dandruff on the hair of his that would stuck in his nails if he scratched his head.

School? People tend to ask this type of questions if they watched his daily routines.

He was already eighteen years old, his school days long passed. Even if it just a year, the word school felt alien to him now and the image of it were blurry inside his head.

Despite he seen that hellish place for almost eleven years and to be honest, he was sick of seeing it.

Work? He applied, he had applied to all job vacancies from every mall to every supermarket that located near his house for part-time.

He painstakingly sought them, filled form by form of those presented to him and he felt a tickle of joy in his heart when the ones who gave those forms said we will call you in x days.

Then, his hopes shattered when he still didn't get any words from them even after the said days had passed. He thought, at least he would get one job.

He looked towards the screen.

He was just one step away from his little dream, there was only one more item left in the game to complete his character builds.

In reality, there were actually two of them. He had lost hope in obtaining the other one when it was with a high leveled player.

But, he couldn't still accomplish the dream when his luck failed him.

The monitor shows a small, hideous, green creature with the size of a child with a pair of oversized ears as big as its own head. It wasn't goblin as the few statements distorted what goblin looked like.

Its skin were a lot darker in color, almost black and it only had three fingers on each of its tiny hands. Different than the monster which had four.

This monster has been added through an update two months ago and he registered another account at that time, again when he already played the game as Ogre to play it.

Based on the Norse mythology, the developers made a little alternation on a world called Midgard, where the game took place one thousand years into the future in time.

Where Jormungandr, the world serpent's dead body had contaminated the realm and human were extinct after exposed to the poisoned air and water that the serpent's titanic body laid waste on after it battled Thor and only monsters survive, unscathed from the aftermath.

There were countless other myths and lagends mixed from different famous cultures added into the game such as, Greek and British and it kept increasing in number through each updates.

When it first made its appearance, there were many who excited when they heard the news and almost everybody played as this monster on the day it were officially released, but now there weren't many because people realized how bad it was when they used it as their avatar, its demerits greatly outweighs its merits.

Firstly, it couldn't equip many items. When the developers made Item Slot as feature of great importance in this game, they gave this monster only six, far lesser than other monsters as though they want to make an unlaughable joke and with its unbalanced stats they also gave, humiliated this creature which needless to say were superior than small-eared goblin.

Classes it could chose and benefit from were sadly limited.

Sorcerer.

Tamer.

Rogue.

Druid.

Only these four would assist it better in-game out of many main classes. Yet why he still insist on playing as this character?

He chose it because of those few merits that people seemed to not care.

It had two branches of race it could change into by using a specific required item and fulfilling specific conditions.

Angle and Demon, this was its notable specialty since these two monsters were of opposite Karma Value and consequently made it as one of the unique monsters in the game.

Moreover, it was resistant to lightning attributed attacks and spells. An attribute which had the annoying Stun effect, rare creatures immune or resistance to it and therefore made it the most used.

Or he just put those pathetic excuses to cover up how bad this character really was since he found its design attractive to him.

Players can either chose to change its race when they reached level fifteen.

Howbeit, only Cleric and Paladin class were they allowed to take in order to change into angel and obviously bad classes imaginable to be paired with and a reason why there were less than a hundred people that successfully changed into it.

He smiled troubledly when he thought about those things.

That was how troublesome this monster Gremlin were.

Armipotent

This is a work of fiction, any names, characters, stories or events, are fictitious! (Even the country in the story is just the author's fantasy as the author never visited those countries in the story) Armipotent is an archaic adjective meaning "strong in battle." Basically, it refers to someone who is physically tough in war. Originally, it was used to refer to the Roman god of war, Mars. ===================== Tang Shaoyang, an orphan who dropped out of the middle school to fight on the street as he found out school was useless for a penniless orphan like him. Tang Shaoyang dropped out of his school, fighting on the street, and made a name for himself. Berserker Tang from Youyouliucun. Afterward, Dragon Wing triad recruited him and everything was good for him. Even though the public deemed him as a tumor of society, Tang Shaoyang was having a decent life. Until one day, everything changed as an absurd and strange game started. "... Game starts! Stage one: Survival for The Fittest!" After the game started, zombies appeared out of nowhere. ... Ding! "You have killed 1000 zombies less than 24 hours since the game started! You gained 3 Talents!" Dong! "You may choose 3 Talents! please choose carefully!" Tang Shaoyang held his chin and mused what Talent he had to choose. "With Zombies appear everywhere, I need an infinite strength... this is one, I still need to choose 2 Talents more..." Then a lewd smile formed on his lips. "I want an infinite strength, charm and charisma to conquer women, and the last one, I want to upgrade my **** so I can please my women!" After saying this, Tang Shaoyang laughed aloud. "Hahaha, there's no way such talent exists... ehhhhh?!!!" Ding! Dong! "3 Talents are consumed! You have been granted Divine Body! Good Luck, Gamer Tang Shaoyang!" Tang Shaoyang immediately checked the detail of Divine Body. After a brief silence, he muttered unbelievably. "Such Talents really exist..."
