The drizzling rain

Shizun became completely unapproachable and left Xuxu to sulk by himself.

For the following two days they meandered about the abandoned old temple, cleaning up as Shizun instructed. But there wasn't much to do, and when Shizun decided he wanted to do something, like cleaning up weeds on the west side of the temple, he wouldn't allow Xuxu to share his task.

It left the boy with a lot of free time he didn't really know how to spend. So he decided to spend it training his martial arts using the random manuals he managed to buy with saved up pocket change or cultivate based on Shizun's haphazard instructions. To put simply, Xuxu was not only bored out of his mind but didn't have a clue about what he was even doing.

It was such that he found himself lying across the dewy grass on a fine afternoon, staring up at the clear blue sky, splayed out like a lazy starfish.
