TGP: On the snowy road

The children looked confusedly at Li Amm. They don't understand what she had been saying in the latter part of the story. But it sounds like the ending of the studious girl who got everything she wants was not good as it might seem.

The beautiful woman who promised them warm food and warm house looked lost right now. Their heavy feet still continued to walk as the children who were trying to understand her story and the woman who was feeling complicated walked with a lot of thoughts.

Suddenly, the young child in Li Amm's arms who hadn't speak any word tapped Li Amm's shoulder.

Li Amm woke up from her stupor and looked at the little boy.

"Maybe she doesn't really get what she wants. " The little boy's voice was small and groggy.

Li Amm , who originally thought that the boy might be mute after not speaking this whole time, was stunned.

'Why this boy had said so?'

The pale lips of the boy continued to speak.

"Maybe she doesn't like hot buns with spicy meat. Or maybe she doesn't like visiting places." The boy's lovely dark eyes stared back at the phoenix eyes of Li Amm.

Li Amm was tongue-tied.

She took the boy's words differently. Actually, the words of this boy -who just look like three years old- made sense.

She doesn't like the things she had achieved? But weren't those the dreams she ever wanted to reach?

Li Amm's thoughts got more jumbled. Maybe, the kid was right. Maybe she doesn't really know what she likes.

Li Amm let out a mocking laugh. Who could believe that the Liam Drelavine that people deemed in her former world as the most amazing woman in the 20th century would actually have a crisis on herself? Who would thought that she would question herself if achieving those meritorious deeds and being recorded in history, was not something she hoped for? If people would know that they would be surely shocked.

She had already done amazing things in her life, should she do more? Should she have become a President of the country? Or save the whole world from evil?

Li Amm knew that great responsibility was something she would not likely dream to have. Not after she become Liam Drelavine in her first life. Being a CEO had many responsibilities. The life of the thousands of men was shouldered by her. And it was a pain in the ass to lead some people who were stubborn and love to court death. What about the fate of the whole country? With millions of people and a bunch of complainers around?

Nah. She would never dream about that unless she wants to kill herself out of stress and overwork. This light thought of Li Amm would actually bite her back in her upcoming lives.

Li Amm looked down at the child in her arms. She smiled teasingly at the little one.

"Who would have thought I have a genius philosopher here in my arms." The children looked back at her clearly not understanding her words.

"What is your name?" Li Amm asked the young child.

"Chian." The little boy answered. He had clearly caught on the word 'genius' and 'the child in my arms'.

'Was it me?' Being complimented like that made the young boy blushed. But because of the dust in his face and the dim light, it went unnoticeable.

"That's a good name. How old are you, Chian?" Li Amm found this little boy smart and cute. She could not help but have a favorable impression on him.

"I am seven."

"..." Li Amm.

This tiny boy, who barely reached her waist, was actually seven years old?!

The boy became shyer as he saw the disbelieving eye of Li Amm.

The other boy in the side could not help but defend his little brother.

"We haven't eaten meat in a very long time. We can only eat thrice a week. So little Chi grew very slow. When we have meat and vegetable, little Chi would grow up tall and handsome! He is smarter than any children in the west alley!" The boy was afraid that little Chi would be thrown out after finding out he was so small for his age. So he boosted his little brother by giving out his little brother's talent. He hoped that the beautiful lady won't leave his brother here.

Li Amm patted the boy's head. Her other had almost gives out when she did the process.

The little boy noticed it and struggle out in Li Amm's hold.

"I can walk by myself now. I have rest enough." Since the little guy was struggling so hard to get out of her arms. Li Amm put him down.

Her arms were trembling. She patted the two's head and smiled warmly at them. Seeing these two's brotherly love and compassion for other people made Li Amm promised herself that she would treat them well.

"I already promised that I will take care all four of you." Then Li Amm looked at the older boy.

"You took care of your brother well. What is your name?"

The older boy's eyes shined. It was a good thing he was complimented. As long as the lady had a good impression on them, then they would have a home.

"My name is Yun." The boy answered with enthusiasm. He was a cheerful child.

"Nice to meet you big bro Yun." Li Amm smiled at the children as they held hand in hand and continued on their journey.

"The eldest is Sister Xan. She is very talented like what big bro told you. Big bro's name is Shan. He is like that but he is smarter than any of us. He and sister Xan are siblings. They took me in when I was eight." The boy became a talker as he began to sell his brothers and sisters.

"Oh? You are not blood-related to them? How old are you? " Li Amm got interested in the boy's story.

"I am ten now. Little Chian is also like me. We found him a year ago. He kept following us and did not speak a word. He even slept in front of our house. Sister Xan pitied him and let him sleep in the house. After that, he sleeps with us every night."

Li Amm was stunned by this story. So little Chian really got himself a family. It was a smart move for a kid. She was more impressed with the eldest. She was just a young child with nothing to offer. But she helped a child when she and her brother needed help more than anyone. That child had a big heart.

"Big bro Yun has good hands. He makes straw slippers and we sell them for two copper coins." The boy continued to list out his sibling's specialties.

"Oh, the one you are wearing right now is made by him?"

"Yes. He is also good at making straw dolls. Two straw dolls is one copper coin."

The small chattering of the woman and a child resounded clearly in the snowy dark road. Even the shadow who was following them could hear their lively chattering among this cold breeze.
