Chapter 2: An Impossible Mission

He spoke so well but she failed to comprehend what he was saying. She was still astound to how other-worldly the appearance of the person in front of her is.

"From above?"

"Yes. The deities heard you and have tasked you to do your very goal. You have to save everyone." He said. His words were so kind and calming, as if she was hearing a lullaby that comforted her heart. As he talked, it was as if he knows her really well. It was like he was talking to her as a friend she have always known, but never saw again.

But she really did not understand what he was saying.

"Wear this necklace and never take it off. If someone around is thinking of ending his life, that necklace will glow and will lead us to where the person in need is." He explained as he put the necklace on her neck. The necklace was a medium-sized reddish circle with a transparent heart shape on the center and was wrapped with silver chains.

"Us?" she asked. As the conversation continued, she felt more confused and she started to arm herself with disbelief.

"Yes. Us. I have arranged everything to keep myself around you at all times."

"What do you me-" she was supposed to say something but the necklace shone so brightly that it almost blinded her. She had a weird feeling when she saw the light because her whole life flashed into her sight, and she saw everything that has happened- especially how she was driven to a corner while the war ranged. Painful, happy, devatating memories started to cloud her thoughts- making her hold onto her head which felt like it was going to detach from her body. Her whole body trembled in fear as she tried screaming but voices she have heard in her life was deafening her that even her own voice became inaudible to her.

Light noticed how she trembled so he walked near her, closing their gap, and held the cold, trembling hand of Joy. As if awoken from an endless dream, Joy came back to her senses, but as she opened her eyes, she saw Light's golden eyes looking directly at her- so she started to back of, holding her chest.

"Stay away from me!" She screamed, trying to push him away from her body. "I know the styles of the likes of you! You perv!" She yelled, making Light freeze from where he stood, unable to grasp the situation. But after being able to absorb what she just said, he finally talked.

"I never thought that I will be called that in my life, ya know?" he said, chuckling as he found her words to be funny and hilarious. He started to comb his hair upward using his hand while still trying hard to mask his laugh.

"S- so you mean that you weren't planning on taking advantage of me?" Joy asked as she calmed down and blushed because of embarrasment.

He looked at her directly into the eyes then approached her as she tried to move away but she reached the railing of the rooftop, making her position accessible to Light. Without averting his gaze from her, he stroked the bangs of Joy that was already wet because of sweat from the nervousness she felt. He looked at her eyes with the coldest expression which froze Joy. His eyes were really ethereal, which made her feel like the sun- but in contrary, his expression was too cold.

"You aren't even a bit pretty." He said in a cold manner, shocking Joy from where she stood.

"Hey! I can't accept what you just said! And please, if you are going to say that, make sure to make yourself untransparent because I can see your sincerity and that only makes it worst~" she said, and if there was a real life emoji for shame, it would be on her at that juncture.

" I will meet you tomorrow morning at your residence. Make sure you are not late. " he said, walking away from her.

From Joy's vision, his back looked like someone she knew somewhere but she could not remember where she saw the person, but Light has a stricking resemblance to someone she knew all along~

"What a psychotic pervert!"
