First carriage people came out and with awkward expression looked at the people behind them. One older man came near and bowed to her. ''Sorry, miss. When we went back home we told our families about you and when they heard you are feeding us well and giving us full payment on top of that. Some of our members exaggerated the sum, so we have some people that don't listen to what we really say. They think we lie so they wouldn't get the job.''
Shu Ya just nodded and seeing that she didn't comment at all he went back to his group. The moment others started arriving she turned to Luoli. ''Can you bring me my chair and blanket. This will take a while.''
Luoli could see the playful glint in her eyes and rushed quickly to the main room to hide laughter as well. Young miss is going to become mischievous again.
When she came back just last people came from the carriages an almost a hundred people gathered in front of Shu Ya. Luoli put the chair on the porch and Ruoxi put the blanket over her knees as it was a windy day and temperatures in the morning were not warm at all.
Bolin and Shin Young could see her slight wink and stayed behind, just in case someone start making trouble. They knew that trouble makers would be more behind than in front. But this time, some of them were in front of Shu Ya trying to scare her.
A man with a huge scar over his face came forward and with strange expressions tared at the small child. ''Are you the one who is hiring. I came to work as well.''
Shu Ya just took a look at him and nodded. ''You seem healthy and strong. You will go to a group that will wash and clean vegetables. Next!''
The man looked at her ina astonishment and went to the side as she pointed at a certain spot. He didn't know how to react completely calm child.
Many people lined up and she already made three gradations when two men suddenly pushed a few people aside to come in front of her. ''We came to work as well. When will we get food?''
''After I arrange everyone their duties. You two are strong and healthy as well. Cleaning and washing vegetables. Please go to your group.'' She waved her hand but the two men stepped forward.
''We could help you control people. You know people are animals, they need control. You don't have to pay us a lot, just double what they get.'' They pointed at quiet people that avoided their eyes.
''Not interested. If you want to work, you will do what I say. Or go home. there is no third option.'' Shu Ya calmly took the teacup from Ruoxi that prepared some for her and sipped on it.
But would those two give up so easily? ''Young miss I think you misunderstand. We belong to the Kao gang. We are usually hired to control people. Not work.''
Shu Ya looked at them completely calmly for a long time. ''So what? Are they my family?''
''Family?'' They were flabergasted with that question. ''What does that to do with our job? As much as I know no one in our gang is familiar with you.''
''Then do you have a death contract with me or are you already hired as my servant?'' Shu Ya continued to sip on tea and took a stip of carrot to chew on it.
Seeing a completely calm child they felt like they hit cotton. How is this child so calm? Is there some big story behind her? Impossible. They heard she even parted by both sides of her family. So what is it that gives her confidence? He felt at the same time helpless and angry. Why is he even here?
''Miss, then we would revise our offer and leave.'' The first man just wanted to turn around while the other one was set on to make trouble.
''I am not leaving. I have the right to ask for a better position.'' He pointed at her and yelled.
The other man that just gave up rolled his eyes. There is no way he would be able to get anything out of this small nutcase. ''Just let it go. We will just tell our boss. He will decide what will happen. Don't stir trouble.''
The other man just pushed him away. ''Stir trouble? We came all over here and she said she has no use for us. Where is that possible?''
Shu Ya started loudly laughing. ''So by what law in this country do I MUST give you a job? Bring me the law book and show it to me and then I will give you a job. But the next offer won't be to clean vegetables than to clean lavatories and surroundings. And you will get paid the same as others.''
The man stood there pointing at her with a shaky hand. ''You... you... you dare?!''
She rose her eyebrow. ''Why wouldn't I dare? Who are you to me? I am the owner of this place and I chose who will work who not. It's my free will to do so. Have a problem with it?''
He was about to step forward as he suddenly felt losing the ground and flying like a bird. When he hit the floor he completely fainted. The first man shook staring at the two big men that calmly stood there waiting for their turn.
Bolin calmly stared ta him. ''To loud. I hate loud people. If you want to work hurry up, if not step aside so others can get some work.'' He then again stood calmly in line and waited.
He understood why she didn't want anyone to know that he works for her. Wait, he doesn't work for her, yet. He chuckled as he saw a small smile in the corner of her lips.
Naughty.
