Chapter 1Chapter 1

[The delegation arrived.]

Kear read that on her tech pad. It was wrist mounted making it easy for her to look at. She looked at herself with a forced smile.

"It's no big deal girl. Just go in there and do your job."

She was a translator for the United Federation. The representatives of all the different countries and unions, were here today for a cease fire. This space station was next to one of the largest hospital stations in neutral territory. Since all the countries were coming here, this made it the safest place within the universe.

Right now Kear was in the restroom keeping herself calm. If she made a slight mistake it would lead straight back to war. There was no way she would let that happen.

Of course she wouldn't be the only one translating, but she would have to stand in the same area as the leaders of the United Federation. She was sweating bricks at that thought.

---

Of course she has worked in tense situations before. When the government didn't want any technology involved in an interrogation, she would be called in to translate. They wouldn't want a hacker to hear what they would learn or know this facility existed. She could fight and stand the sight of it, but she abhorred that kind of violence: torture.

She had to do it as an officer within the military, she was bred for the service. Kear wasn't born to parents or the like, she was grown in a lab. She wasn't a clone, but she never had true freedom. When this war was over, she was going to be free.

She didn't really know what that meant, but she heard stories like that. To live how you want; wake up whenever; eat the food you want; have a family; not having to hurt others.

---

Walking along the corridor towards the United Federation's area. Kear passed by different people. There weren't all humans like her. Different species lived out in this vast space. Humans probably had the most factions out of each species; about seven in total.

She had heard stories of ancient humans that lived on a planet called earth. Earth was the birthplace of humanity. Green fields of grass and trees and flowers of varying colors. She wanted to go to a planet like that and live there. It would be easy for her to communicate with others like that.

While she was thinking about her dream planet, a sudden hand grabbed her mouth. A cloth separated their hand and her mouth. She started to get dizzy, finding it difficult to fight back. She could hear two people arguing next to her as she tried to put up a fight after breaking free from their grip.

"What do you have a knife for? We need her clothes, so we cannot get blood on them."

"It's just for taking her out once we get them. Grab her and put on her clothing and hurry."

She knew they had no plans on keeping her alive. She grabbed her pin off her chest and cut into her hand. Kear wiped the blood all over her clothing. She wouldn't give them the satisfaction of letting their plan go the way they want.

"Just kill her we will go to plan b."

One of them rushed towards her. She tried to react, but she was losing consciousness fast. There wasn't anything she could do to defend herself. She was stabbed in the stomach, but that didn't mean she would let them off free. With the pin showing that she was from the United Federation in her hand, she jabbed it in the neck of the one who stabbed her. Since he showed an opening stabbing her like a rookie, she took all the advantage she could.

Both of them fell to the ground, the accomplice next to them started to run away. She couldn't let their plan work. She grabbed the knife from her stomach and threw it in that woman's back. It was the last thing she saw before everything went black.

Pillow of Hearts: A tale between the warm hug and cold coffee

Moon Young Jae’s homophobic family considered him a disgrace and held his freedom in their clutch. Even with being obedient, he was not free from their abuse. Young Jae was almost blinded and crippled by his father when he stood up for himself for the first time. Left to bleed and die, luckily, he did have a family who wanted to save him. It was twin cousins, who were disowned long before him, who saved him. Sad and hopeless, Young Jae became curious when he met his cousins’ friend, who understood him better than anyone, even without words. Curiosity got the best of him, and he ended by handing his heart, love and soul over a plater as a price. Slowly, Young Jae fell in love with everything about and around Min Jun and eventually fell for the man. Calculative Wang Min Jun entered Young Jae’s life accidentally. He challenged Young Jae's belief with a warm smile and flipped Young Jae’s world upside down. Min Jun read Young Jae like an open book. He planned to get over the little crush he had on his seniors' cousin brother but failed miserably. Min Jun did not like the often-visited ‘frown’ between those beautiful eyebrows and even the always singing of ‘sigh’ through those sinful lips. Min Jun made it his mission to change it only to fall for everything about Young Jae. Wang Min Jun carried his share of baggage, but he was well-prepared to meet the demons from the past head-on. But Young Jae became a mess whenever his past demons decided to pay a visit. He realised he did not have to face anything alone as he has a wonderful boyfriend who cherishes everything about him. Both faced their past demons and trauma together. When a person betrayed by a family fell in love with a person who holds his family above everything, sparks flew, and hearts soared in happiness. Will their story has a harmonious bell, or would it be a sea of misery? Teaser: Files were shattered all over Min Jun’s bed, and his laptop was placed on the bedside table. It chimed once in a while, indicating a new email for him to check. The work was piling more and more as he was diligently finishing it. Young Jae walked into his boyfriend’s bedroom to witness his handsome lover working hard. "Jun Jun! Are you busy?" Even though Young Jae did not want to disturb his lover, he knew he needed some help to impress his boss. "Never for you, love. Tell you what you need?" Min Jun did not lift his head from the file he was going through, but the warmth in his voice reached Young Jae's heart without fail. "Do you have a minute to help me in reviewing my monthly internship report? I have to present to our boss tomorrow morning." Young Jae pouted as he asked. Min Ju looked at his adorable tokki and smiled mischievously. "You are brave, asking your superior to help you sneakily. I can't do it for free. I need a huge bribe to help you. What are you planning to offer?" "Be serious. You have too much work to do." Young Jae chided his shameless boyfriend, who never failed to seize every opportunity to make him moan and groan as he takes him to the pleasurable heaven. "Exactly. I have too much work to do. If I am taking my time to help you, I need something in return. Something so tempting that I don’t mind cramping lots of things later." Min Jun smiled like a devil he was as he grabbed Young Jae towards him. The little rabbit who fell into the cunning wolf's lap did not even get a chance to protest as he was devoured breathlessly. Young Jae forgot why he entered the wolf's lair altogether. Min Jun pushed the files away to make space for his little rabbit to lay down comfortably. Young Jae’s report was long forgotten as a treacherous hand started to caress him again under the shirt as a sinful sound filled the room. Song of the Gardener of Souls [BL]

Rowan sees beauty in death. The Order he has sworn to obey only sees defilement. As the reviled Caretaker of the Order, Rowan has accepted his role as a dutiful outcast because he believes it is the only way to prove his worth to the man who holds his sisters’ souls as collateral. With his magic and his voice, Rowan can absorb death and transform it, but only in ways the Order deems acceptable to maintain the stability of the reality it claims to protect Order must subdue Disorder. Reality must triumph over illusion. He is tainted and always will be. Rowan has never questioned those lessons, but that changes the night he harvests a crimson soul that is more than human and chooses to keep it a secret. When Rowan’s song transforms that soul into a beautiful and mysterious man he names Wren, he is forced to accept that sometimes duty is a lie and illusion is the only thing you can trust. As the fabric of the Order begins to unwind and a new kind of Disorder takes hold, Rowan will need to choose again, stand with the Order that held him down, or forge a new path with Wren at his side. He may be the only one who can restore balance to the worlds, but only if he can find balance within himself first. ************************************* Updates 3-4 times per week. Note: This story focuses on relationships. I promise an epic romance, lots of swoon-worthy moments, and a healthy amount of fluff. When it does get steamy…you might get burned. Fair warning for explicit content. I don’t shy away from my spice. There are lots of side characters and couples to fall in love with, in addition to the main couple. If you love the idea of found family, you will be happy. This book is set in a non-heteronormative world, so you will see various gender identities/expressions and types of love. ************************************* Excerpt (if you want the full steamy version, you will have to read the book!): Still reeling from the new magic that coursed under his skin and unsure of how to react to the desire that threatened to take control of him, Rowan froze. Wren's hot breath against his mouth sent a jolt of pleasure through his body, and he choked back a groan. A different kind of panic flared in Rowan's chest, burning him as if he were the one on fire. This was what he wanted, what he'd thought about every night since Wren left. But wanting more was one thing. Acting on it was another. He'd spent so much of his life hiding, he didn't know how to do anything else. One corner of Wren's mouth twitched as Rowan pulled away. When he attempted to free himself from Wren's grasp, Wren just hauled him closer. Rowan liked that he didn't have to think about what to do next. His bare chest thudded against Wren's torso, and the heat from Wren's body merged with Rowan's skin, melting him from the inside out. "What did you just do to me?" Wren's deep voice vibrated against Rowan's chest. "The Disorder of your illusion was holding you captive. I…I absorbed it." "Oh? Where did you learn to do that? Have I been gone that long?" Wren's grip loosened slightly on Rowan's wrists as if he was satisfied now that Rowan was practically sitting on top him. Rowan stared at Wren's lips. He opened his mouth to protest, but immediately closed it again. "I know you aren't going to say that I shouldn't touch you." Wren's free hand splayed over the small of Rowan's back. "Not when you started it." Rowan's breath hitched. "No. I'm not going to say that anymore. Not to you." "I thought you were afraid to be touched." Wren's fingers traced a circle over the curve of Rowan's spine as if testing for a reaction. "I know that I'm not afraid of you." Rowan waited for the panic to set in, but all he felt was desire. "With you, I want…" "You want what?" "I want more." Triumph flared in Wren's gaze before he narrowed his eyes. "Really? Then why are you still trying to get away from me?"
