Wind Maneuvering

Gris's incredulous eyes stared at Gin, he didn't expect his mission's target to possess something like purple spirit orb and that too more than one.

Before accepting the mission, he inquires everything about the target, and he was certain Gin doesn't come from a powerful background.

But what he witnessed till now says otherwise. Everything about Gin doesn't add up with the information provided by the client; be it his strength, combat skills, or the pricy stuff he owns.

A person of his profession can't complain about one or two incorrect details, but if all the proffered information is wrong then what can he do?

He can only bang his head against the wall and curse the person who offered this job a thousand times.

"It looks like you are not a simple person, Mr. Gin, as everyone thinks," Gris commented. "Do you have more of those orbs?"

"What do you think?"

"I am not sure."

"So how about we walk our own way."

"I think you don't realize the kind of situation you are in, yet. Even though the orb is pretty powerful, it can't threaten my life.

If I am fast enough, I can evade it pretty easily." Gris stated.

He maintained a gap of 20-meters from Gin, an ample distance to escape from the potent range of the attack.

"True" Gin nodded. He knows it too.

If he wants to hurt his opponent with the orb, he has to burst it when Gris is within a 5-meter range but the attack would also influence him.

He wasn't afraid of getting hit by his own attack, he has protective treasures which will keep him safe.

He has two types of protective treasure: one type that he has to activate with his hand and another, that would automatically shield his body against the powerful strikes.

The latter is more expensive — it's a type of golden vest one would wear it underneath their clothes. It cost him 500,000 Elemental stones, 5 times more pricy than the other two protective treasure.

If possible, he doesn't want to waste them here. But the man in front of him is dead set on killing him, even after he showed the might of the purple spirit orb.

Gin couldn't make sense of it and doesn't understand why.

Having no alternative, he dashed towards Gris grasping the purple spirt orb in his hands. He can only confront the man head-on, since running back isn't a good option.

Just as Gin advanced forward, Gris retreated, keeping the distance. Suddenly, Gin accelerated his speed to another level and closed the distance between them.

Without any hesitation, he threw the orb at his enemy. His sudden rush in speed can even rival some Seal opening practitioners who opened five hidden seals.

Even so, Gris was able to retreat with a calm expression but the surprise was evident on his face. He didn't foresee Gin would toss the orb even though the distance between them is large.

'What a waste of treasure!'

Just as he retreated, he noticed Gin rushing towards the orb he has thrown. Before it could hit the ground, he caught it and flew off towards the inner regions of the Extreme snow region.

The sudden change in situation bewildered Gris, as he couldn't make sense of Gin's motive. Running away from him won't change the outcome.

'You can't outrun me!" He chased Gin, but careful enough to maintain some distance.

Hearing his statement, Gin just smirked. From the start, he didn't plan on confronting Gris head-on. His aim is to get past him and he achieved it.

Why do you ask? It's because the wind is blowing in this direction.

A few seconds later, Gris observed the change. He felt Gin's speed is increasing every second and he was shocked to discover that he was harnessing 80% of his speed.

It's not the end, in order to keep pace with him he has to increase his speed every second. 'What kind of martial skill is this?'

Few seconds passed by, and the distance between him and Gin keeps on increasing. Gris was now pursuing at full speed but he couldn't catch up.

"Fu*k" He cursed. This is the first time he lost his composure. 'If I have to kill him, I have to give it my all.'

Gritting his teeth, he activated his martial skill that utilizes his elemental energy — Lightning Dive.

When Gin looked back, he was appalled to see blue lightning-like energy winding around his opponent's legs. As if this isn't powerful enough, a blue lightning spear was materializing in his right hand.

"uh-oh! This isn't good." Gin grimaced. He hurriedly sought to boost his speed, only to realize the Absolute-wind technique doesn't work like that.

The first stage of the Absolute-wind technique is called Wind Maneuvering. As the name hints, this technique harnesses the power of the wind.

In order to master this technique, he needs to learn, experience, and understand various things about wind and its traits.

The first stage centers on understanding wind direction and how one can use it to their advantage. Using the direction wind blows, he can maneuver them to increase his speed.

The downside is, it's a gradual process he can't rush the wind. Maybe in the future, but certainly not now.

With a powerful thrust, his opponent propelled towards him. With two steps, Gris closed the distance that Gin worked so hard to create, and with another step he reached him.

Without any delay, Gin quickly hurled the purple spirit orb at Gris. There's only a 2-3 meter gap between them, he wants to see how his opponent would dodge the attack within such close range.

At the same time, he also took out a thick golden-orange colored paper and tore it.

If one noticed carefully, they can view the complex inscription symbols engraved upon it.

Unlike before, Gris didn't retreat and faced it head-on. A metallic half-broken shield appeared in his left hand, soon a translucent glow emerged from it and enveloped his figure, completely.

The purple spirit orb smashed against the shield, creating the purplish radiance that enveloped both of them.

At the last second, a golden globe appeared and protected Gin's body from the attack.

Everything happened in a flash since both of them were in high-speed flight. There was no time to react.

In the next second, both their figures came out of the purplish dazzling light, unharmed. The translucent glow surrounding Gris disappeared, but the golden globe protecting Gin was still there.

It can shield him for 5 seconds before dissipating. Of course, if the attack is powerful enough it will break.

Gris's expression turned sour, he was gnashing his teeth in fury. He hasn't encountered someone like Gin in his life, who was practically unkillable.

With all the treasures he owns, even initial stage seal destruction masters will have a hard time killing him.

Even so, Grish didn't stop his pursuit. He can maintain the 'lightning dive' for 15 seconds and he will do whatever it takes to kill the target within that short time frame.

The pure lightning spear in his right hand swirled fast, using his entire strength he hurled it towards Gin.

The lightning spear was too fast, carrying a 'zzzz' sound it struck the golden globe encircling Gin. The shocking thing is, it shattered the golden globe.

It's understandable. The globe already helped him in resisting the purple spirit orb's attack, after all. Thankfully, the spear also dissipated along with the scattered golden fragments.

Gin then noticed Gris taking out a purple-colored vial and gulping the potion in it.

Soon, another lightning spear materialized in his hand. Gin also took out his second protective paper and tore it without any hesitation.

'Why are you ripping it like its some kind of chocolate covers?' Gris face twitched. He used all the treasures he acquired to date in the battle, but he still couldn't kill the target.

He doesn't have confidence in killing the target, anymore. He's giving his all because that's who he is.

The essence energy in his body is going to deplete soon, he can perform another attack before it hit zero.

He threw the lightning spear in his hand at the golden glob, creating cracks upon it. Soon, another one materialized in his hands. It will be his last attack.

He once again hurled it at the target and stopped chasing. He sighed looking at his attack dissipating along with the golden shield.

As for Gin, he was long gone, disappeared from his opponent's sight.
