Chapter 12: Her Incident

Anna's Point of View

"Oh look who's here"

As I was reading peacefully in the library, Shina stood infront of the table, smiling, trying to intimidate me. She walked inside the library with another girl with a short-haired girl.

"It is no wonder why Chieko always get to be on top of our class! I'm proud of you!"

Shina's friend smilingly responded. Shina then elbowed the girl. I can sense that Shina is controlling her friend, this girl is being a slave from Shina and that's just sad and all.

"Did I say proud? I meant ashamed!"

The girl changed her statement with a graty voice. I laughed inside causing me to grin a little.

"I'm very sorry for Aina's clumsiness. I just want us to befriend you. Like getting to know each other so we can get out from this toxic relationship"

Shina replied with an upbeating tone. I looked at Shina's eyes for a second. I must say that this girl is so bad at pretending and how she fakes her smile is not an ideal characteristic of being a great actress. I also didn't know that even here in the 19th Century, fake friends are already discovered I didn't answer and continued focusing on the book I was reading. This book is very much worthy than talking with these girls.

"Oh no, she just ignored you. You actually got rejected by her!"

The girl, apparently named Aina, said and followed by her hilarious laugh. These two are beginning to be noisy, they should atleast be kicked out in the library.

"Well, it would be a bother if you are not close with me. I'm going to cry in my house all night because you didn't accept my request!"

Shina shouted at my face as she started to weep in front of me. I got shocked after seeing her being dramatic. I didn't know she would get affected on what I said.

"Don't cry, let's just bail. The librarian might wake up and punish us for being noisy"

Aina tried calming Shina down from crying, as they started to walk away and outside the library, and left me in silence and shocked. I didn't know Shina could be very emotionally unstable. With that, I felt bad and guilty for myself. I looked down on the book I was reading and continued to read it even if there's a guilt trapped inside my chest.

After finishing eight chapters of the book, I decided to return it on the respective bookshelf and asked the librarian if there are newspapers for this past few days that I can read.

"Excuse me, can I ask where the newspapers are located?"

I asked the librarian who has a face that you won't ever go near to. The librarian only glared at me for a few seconds.

"Newspapers here are outdated. If you want some newspapers that were published this month, go find it somewhere"

The librarian said with a hoarse voice. She sounds very irritated, she needs to calm down and relax if she is stressed.

"Oh okay, thank you"

I politely replied to her and walked towards the library door to go outside. Why are people here so hot-headed and very emotional?! This just proves that I don't fit in this period of time.

As I got outside the library, I saw Shina and Aina walking towards me, smiling and waving as if we are close friends. I tried walking quickly to the staircase to avoid those girls, but unfortunately, they managed to catch up.

"Why were you running away? Didn't you see us waving and calling for your name?"

Shina said as she patted me down forcefully, causing me to slightly feel the pain. I smiled at them, trying to control my temper. I don't want to let out my real personality as I am just acting innocent.

"Let's go to the park and have fun as close friends!"

Shina happily said. When did she drastically change from being a mad and crazy girl to a more friendlier and happier lady? But then, she might be planning something bad for me. I should not follow her to avoid any danger from me.

"C'mon Chieko! It would be fun!"

Shina said as she gently gripped my fingers with her forced hands. I didn't scream for I may be in trouble.

"Oh my! Why are you squeezing her hand?"

Aina suddenly spoke all of a sudden. I couldn't help controlling my temper and so I intentionally released it.

"Both of you should avoid me or I won't be easy on you. I am just controlling myself not to lose temper but y'all just couldn't help it, could you?"

I said with a serious tone, making them silent for a few seconds. But it wasn't a great help as they forced me to go with them.

"Can you stop with all these dramas and start creating a friendly atmosphere so let's go to the park already!"

Shina said, giving a bulky smile to me, but with that I can see in her eyes that she is about to get angry with me, while she gripped my hand harder that it's making me scream inside.

"Can you not? I am not in a mood for hanging with both of you because I have always felt awkward when you're near me!"

I shouted at them as I tried to let go of her hands from gripping my hands. They are continually abusing my innocence so it's not going to be my fault if they get harmed.

"Oh c'mon please, let's go to the park. I beg you!"

Shina jumped from running out of patience as her fury turned into upsetting look. She then pulled me towards the staircase. Why do they need me to go there? When did we start hanging around? Didn't they bully me yesterday?

"Why are you guys forcing me to go with you if I don't want to?!"

I shouted at them and with my unexpectedly pushed Shina at the stair as we watched her fall step by step. Me and Aina were both in shocked after witnessing Shina falling from the staircase.

"Oh no! Why did you push her?!"

Aina shouted and ran towards the unconscious body of Shina, weeping from sadness. A number of students went near Shina's body, watching them while guys and a guard were lifting Shina's body outside the building to the nearest hospital. I stood at my place, my knees were shaking as I felt like my soul have just left my body. I was sweating and I felt warm tears falling down on my cheeks. I'm definitely changjng the past and it might affect the present.

"Hey!"

Suddenly, a manly tone was heard at the stairs. I looked down to see who it is while wiping my tears on my cheeks. It was Savier, who looks very upset with his eyes string deep into my soul.

"Our head master is looking for you! You should come so you'll know if you will get expelled in this school"

Savier added while showing no emotions at all. Why am I going to be expelled?! I didn't purposely do it! I swear I am innocent.

I followed Savier who is in front of me walking, he is always looking behind just in case I escaped which I wouldn't definitely do. I'm bound to face my problems anytime.

As we get to another school building, we went to the second floor where the school master's office is located. I gulped my throat and prepared myself to whatever they are going to do with me. Students were looking at me as if it's I'm the first one to do this, which I technically did it unintentionally. Outside the school master's office, there were bunch of students and teachers probably waiting for me. They were silent right after I showed, staring and glaring at me with fury.

Savier stopped and knocked at the door of the office. My heart was beating rapidly as I already felt uncomfortable. Ami, Ryogi, Aunt Naomi, someone help me!

"Come in"

A disembodied rough voice was heard inside the office. I got goosebumps as I stepped forward inside the office. Anna, whatever happens, I'm not going to lose this battle and I won't accept if they win over me.

As I went inside, a tall man with a round figure was seen. He has a mustache and wearing a top hat. He was staring at me, that it makes me sweat.

"Why did you push one of our students? Are you her rival?"

He said. His glare makes my knees shake.

"A-I didn't do it on purpose. She was abusing me on the first place"

I calmly answered to him. He only laughed at me.

"Really? Ms. Shina Rydae has always been reported for being behaved. How can she maltreat you?"

He replied. Is he not going to believe me? I mean she drastically changed her personality within a day and I won't be surprised with her behavior reports.

"Sir, you don't need to evaluate based on what you know, people can manage to change if they like it or not, only wise men can identify it"

I gathered courage to respond to him. I saw his eyes grew bigger and was then followed by a loud laugh.

"I'm surprise to see how really smart you are, Ms. Yun. You almost convinced me with your 'wise' words"

He ridiculously said while still laughing.

"To be honest, I didn't speak here to convince you, I'm just here to defend myself and to inform you my side. Only fools could fall for Shina's personality"

I said while showing no emotions on my face. I saw him getting even serious from this conversation.

"You know, if you don't believe me, then there's no point of bringing me here and defending me because in the end, you're just going to expel me"

I added and started to walk away to the door of the office. After going outside this room, I'm going to be expelled from this school, I won't be able to see my classmates that I didn't even get to know.

"Wait"

All of a sudden, the school master spoke with a different tone. I looked back and stepped away from the door to his desk.

"With your courage, I come to believe that you are indeed innocent on what happened to Shina"

He smiled at me and patted down my shoulder. Is this for real? Does that mean I'm not going to be expelled and probably not going to change the present?

"It also means that you can be the key to our success!"

He added. Is that a compliment or another problem that I would need to solve? I should be going to decline this so-called opportunity.

"I'm sorry but I-"

"No! This is a very hard goal and you are the only person that I found that will surely succeed!"

He said as he put his hands over my shoulder and begged for my approval. You just said it's hard! How would I accept this request?

"If you decided to accept my request, then go to this place"

He gave me a piece of paper with an address written on it. I don't any locations in this place since I was just transported in this period. I slightly smiled to him.

"Does that mean I'm not expelled in this school?"

I asked not trying to show any emotions to him.

"Of course, and if you managed to accept and succeed to this goal then you will receive a special award!"

He answered. I'm doing this hard job just to get a special award? I don't even know what this job is and I must say I'm very curious to knowing it.

"Now if you don't have anymore questions, you may now go"

He ended our conversation as he sat down on his desk and did his work papers. I nodded at him and ran towards the door. I'm quite confused as I don't know if I'm in the right path of being Chieko but still, I'm quite curious to know this as well as what is happening to my surroundings.

But one thing I know is that this period of time is getting even more interesting with lots of secrets and information waiting to be unveiled.
