Pam woke up alone in the bed. She listened intently if there is any movement on the bathroom. It sounded empty of Tim. She got up, the door opened. She then washed her face and brushed her teeth. The bathroom has been used. Did he took a bath and leave without telling her? She felt a little sad thinking about it.
When she went outside the room, she realized Tim was just outside. The smell of coffee and pancakes filled the living room. Despite knowing this she called his name, "Tim?"
"Oh you are up."
"Why didn't you wake me up. I should be doing this. Why are you up so early."
"We are going somewhere this morning when office opens. Let's have breakfast and you go get ready after. I am done and will just change."
Her face is so confused, "the party is yet in the afternoon. Are we going to NextGen?"
"Stop asking, we are paying someone a visit."
Pam hugged him through his side wrapping her arms on his waist. She remembers how Tim would prepare breakfast and meals for the two of them. He is very independent and she is so lame in the kitchen.
"You miss this?" He looked at her lovingly.
She nodded her head quickly and dragged the chair opposite Tim to his side. They are sitting side by side only because of the table size, she could only have space for her coffee. She put her legs on top of his thigh while sipping her coffee. They look like newly wed on honeymoon.
Tim fed her with pancakes. "How was it?"
Instead of answering she kissed him on his cheeks.
"I like this feedback!" Tim chuckled. Although the breakfast yesterday was rather special, this one is just as sweet.
After finishing he reminded her to wash up and get dressed.
"I'll clean up first, you prepared the breakfast." Pam was about to fix the table but Tim stopped her.
"No I'll do it. You will take time to bathe and dry your hair. This is easy, go!"
"Are you going to be house-band?" Pam teased him.
"If you plan to raise for both of us, I am fine with that as long as we are together." It was a joke but it warmed Pam's heart.
"Alright I probably need to work double hard otherwise I may not afford to raise you well."
She moved and left Tim in the kitchen. This feeling, she hopes it goes to be like this forever.
When she finished drying her hair, Tim has changed to the clothes that were hanging on her closet. She only had her underwear. She had second thoughts of changing in front of him. She is trying to get a feel if he is going out but looks like he is waiting for her inside. She looked at him.
"What? I've seen everything! I even had tasted almost every part...are you still embarrassed to get changed in front of me? You have to get used to it!"
She did not get the whole point however there is truth to it, one day in the future she needs to get used to it. However since she is moving to Sydney the distance will likely make it awkward. She took a deep breath and chose a baby blue dress with mini puff sleeves. She glanced at Tim, he is on the phone, so she quickly moved to the bathroom to get changed.
She is done with light powder and some gloss when she went out. She chose this dress to match what Tim is wearing, she had no idea who they are visiting it's only 8:30am.
"That looked perfect! I'll go ahead and take the car from The Peak. I will pick you downstairs? Look at your phone to see my message."
"Hmm you go!"
As soon as he received the message that he reached the parking, Pam went down the building. She then received a message from Jenna.
Jenna: Are you ready for the flight?
Pam did not know how to answer, everything happened so fast. It gave her no time to tell Jenna of what had happened. She felt troubled and did not know how to respond. She the got another message.
Jenna: am I getting seen zoned?
Tim was already waiting for her when she descended for The Gardens.
"You look troubled?"
"I...I"
"I what?" Tim had an idea of what is happening.
"I got a message from Jenna, I don't know how to respond...what do I tell her? Where do I start."
Tim chuckled as she is rattled, "just tell her you are going some office this morning."
"But she was asking about the supposed flight later."
"It's not like you are lying when you tell her you are going somewhere first."
With not much choice she replied back to Jenna.
Pam: Jenna, I am going somewhere first this morning, I'll tel you later."
Jenna: Ok
Pam is relieved she did not ask for a follow up question. She looked around. Who are they meeting? These are government offices in the business district.
"Are you meeting an official? Do you have a project with government."
"Yup!" The answer is actually for the first question.
"Then I'll stay in a nearby coffee shop." She smiled sweetly at him. She has to be considerate of Tim. He is a top executive of NextGen after all.
"No you come with me, it won't be too long."
They parked and Tim got her, holding her hands as they walk inside heading to the Mayor's office.
When they entered, Pam dropped her jaw to her surprise. There is an old man who seemed to be in his 50s and on the other side was Jenna and Mark. She made a quick assessment, the man is probably the Mayor. She is unfamiliar but since they are inside the Mayor's office chances are she is right.
"Jenna! Mark!" She looked at Tim. Jenna and Mark were on formal business attires. She let go of Tim's hand and walked towards Jenna to hug her.
"Are you guys getting married?" She thought Tim and her was there to be witnesses.
"This smells fishy!" Jenna looked at Tim's direction. He acted innocent.
Pam thought she was sort of questioning why they are together she just whispered to her ears, "we are back together, sorry for not telling you but you are first to know. I'll send my wedding gifts!"
"Who told you we are getting married. This guy has not given me a ring!" Pointing at Mark complaining. Pam is clueless...
"I am actually surprised that you are 10 steps ahead of me."
Pam is at a lost. Then she heard the old man say, "let's start it will be quick. You just need to sign the papers after."
Tim took her away from Jenna and hugged her, "I told you! You have to be responsible of me. There is no turning back. You have to marry me now otherwise you are not going anywhere."
Pam hugged him and started to cry. Everything is so soon. Is this why the lady at The Peak has been addressing her as Mrs Connor? She is overwhelmed with happiness. In fact she doesn't mind living together with Tim after everything is settled in Sydney. Marriage is just a piece of paper but it formalizes the commitment.
Tim kissed her on his head and patted her back while hugging her then he whispered, "stop crying. I love you and you love me that's the only thing that matters for this marriage to work. Stop crying now otherwise they will think I am forcing you."
In muffled voice she said, "no I am willing."
