Chapter 41 - The Meet Up

Jenna picked up Pam from the airport. Unknown to Pam, Jenna is bringing her to meet Tim and Mark.

Inside the car, "I missed you how is Japan?"

"It's good. It was a short trip but I super enjoyed it!" Anywhere with Mark is going to be pleasant for Jenna.

"I am moving to Sydney after this project." Pam dropped the news to Jenna. Although this is not a surprise but it's happening soon.

"Are you getting assigned there for good? What about the apartment in Singapore? Will you be back here?"

"I'll see I signed up for 3 years contract. If I enjoyed and adjusted well there, I might settle there for good."

"Now I have to make sure I get to be assigned in Australia too so I can visit you."

"Of course! You will have some place to stay with for personal al visits but when you are bringing Mark with you, I will book you in a hotel," Pam giggled. "About the apartment in Singapore, I am not giving it up. It's my second home. I will have it leased. Singapore is an easy place for singles like me."

"When is the project with NextGen closing in 2 weeks time but could be in 3 weeks depending on the post validation results."

Jenna felt sad hearing this even a month from now could easily pass by. Too bad her friend is determined to be single if she was in a relationship at least someone will look after her.

"Also one of the reasons why I wanted talk to you is I have some documents kept in safe deposit here. I am giving you the authority to retrieve them as needed."

Jenna smiled at her, "aren't you afraid I will sell then and run away?"

Pam burst into laughter, she has even given Jenna some of her properties including her luxury bags and some pieces of jewelries. Jenna did not know that part of the documents is her will. One of the land she bought down south goes to family of Auntie Sue while the other are to be donated to local charity in their province.

"No problem, you can sell them and I will hunt you!" Pam was still laughing as he threatened her. She felt like she is dying each day. But rather than feeling too sad about it, she wants to be prepared.

"The other thing is I would like you to accompany me when I have my egg cells collected. I hope to get this done after the project."

"Aren't you considering taking a semen donor?"

"How about asking Mark if he can donate?" Pam jokingly said.

"Why not? But why ask Mark to donate and not Tim?"

Pam smiled bitterly, "easier said than done, also it's my body which does have a problem. I may not be capable to carry the child. Specialist said I can produce egg cells but for it develop and carried on my womb, there is always a high chance of miscarriage. Even if he donates I am not sure if I can keep the baby."

Said a matter of fact, it does sound reasonable. However truth is she may have weak uterus but as long as she conceive as early as possible the chances are high for her to successfully carry the baby until it's born however Pam is not positive about this.

"I may need to save to afford surrogate mother later on. Who ever the donor of the semen would be as long as he is healthy and of good character, it doesn't matter." Knowing Tim is engaged why would he allow such request to happen.

Pam intentionally did not mention about getting 'help' about her eating problems. This is something she feels is not to be turned into a big deal.

"I think the issue here is that you are now too skinny to get pregnant. Rather than your uterus probably your bones will break carrying 5 or 7lbs baby." Jenna is not alarmed at all with her weight loss. She remember before Pam left to study abroad. She also lost weight. Plus girls like to be slim. It's easier to buy and choose clothes.

They have reached the business district however instead of going to her apartment, Pam was taken to another place by Jenna.

"Let's unwind before going to your apartment. By the way I am crashing your place 2 days before your appointment okay? So make sure you stock up!" It's the first time Jenna is sleeping over this apartment although they have have stayed together during trips before.

"Is Mark prepared?"

"Is just 3 days not forever duh..." Jenna rolled her eyes. "I'll make sure he is clear with this again today."

Pam giggled, she rarely have this genuinely happy face. She feels relax with Jenna. Her trusted friend and perhaps the only person who will be there for her anytime.

"Are we having dinner or drinks here?" Pam asked as they entered Hard Rock. Most people would have relaxation in the form of drinking booze on this place.

Pam suddenly froze on her steps seeing the table they are heading to. She held Jenna on her arms seemingly asking why that guy is there.

Jenna is quick to notice the change in her expression. She had to make a white lie. "I didn't know they are meeting here, what a coincidence! Are you uncomfortable, I can make an excuse."

Pam is in dilemma. If they suddenly tell them excuses, it would appear she is running away again. Seeing clear and handsome Tim's face makes her heartache inside. Deep inside she wanted to run to him and tell him how she missed him. However they are in a very complicated situation. He is engaged and he thinks she just left him with no other reason.

She gently whispered to Jenna, "it's fine."

This is what Jenna wants to happen, to make her face Tim and get closure about their past. She knows her friend is conflicted and bothered. As grown up adults they should finally let things go so they can face each other in the future with ease. She spoke to Mark about this. Mark told her that Tim has favor to ask, an opportunity to meet is up is possible.
