Leaving Yangren

Two days passed and Yun and his men moved out of Yangren as planned moving towards Luoyang without Sun Jian who still needed to organize his troops.

Yun was riding ahead with Hua as he was trying to find a high spot to see the army's movement when they find one and he jumps off Thunder as he looked down seeing nothing around them for now.

"I have a feeling that we will have to fight on this open plain," says Yun pointing at it to Hua who was standing beside him.

"Better for me and my men. For now, we only fought in one battle while the rest was fought by the infantry and archers," says Hua happy to finally be useful again.

Hua was a naturally talented cavalry commander. How could he not with him being the real Zhao Yun. They continue to look around before Shadow landed on Yun's shoulder.

"Is something wrong, Shadow?" asks Yun as she shakes her head and asked to be petted.

Yun smiles at her before he pets her favorite spot before Yun says, "We should regroup with the other."

"Yes," says Hua as they mounted their horses again and returned back to where the troops were.

"Anything suspicious going on, my lord?" asks Huang Zhong as Yun shakes his head.

"Not yet, but keep your eyes peeled. They could arrive at any moment," says Yun as Huang Zhong nods while Yun went further back to where Dian Wei was.

They rested when the sun went down and continued to march once the sun was up. They made quite a distance when they arrived at the open plain which he pointed out yesterday to Hua and they find Dong Zhuo's army fortifying their position.

It was as if they knew that they would fight against them there. Yun told the men to make their camp while the ones that have free hands should fortify their position.

Yun was in his tent with his commanders when a soldier enters the tent and says, "My Lord, the enemy sent a messenger. What should we do with him?"

"Bring him here. I want to hear what he has to say," says Yun seriously as he became a bit nervous thinking that Lu Bu wasn't on the other side.

The messenger enters the tent and he kneels in front of Yun out of respect before he says, "Our Generals want to talk with the General that Pacified the North. They want to talk to you so both sides don't lose unnecessarily men in skirmishes between both sides."

"They just want to take one of our weapons away from us by doing so," says Pang Tong angered by what the messenger said.

"We will win anyway with skirmishes or without them. Tell your Generals that we will meet in an hour in the middle of the plain. They try to trick me and I will kill them personally," says Yun as he gave a cold stare at the messenger.

The messenger leaves immediately when Pang Tong says, "You can't be serious about this!"

"Something is wrong," says Yun as Pang Tong nods before he shakes his head.

"What?" asks Pang Tong confused as everyone else in the tent was confused as well.

"They sent a messenger. Isn't that already suspicious enough to you? Dong Zhuo's army never sent us a messenger before but just attacked us. This is far too formal for his army," says Yun as they all now understood.

"If my suspicions are correct then Lu Bu sent that messenger because he wants to talk to me but he can't do it without many people being around," says Yun as they nod before Yun turns to Gan Ning and Dian Wei.

"You two will come with me. Huang Zhong, Taishi Ci, and Hua, I want the men ready if they want to deceive us while talking I want you to attack without hesitation when I give the signal," says Yun as they all nod when Yun turns to Pang Tong and Tang Shi.

"You two will lead the men in the battle do you understand," says Yun as they nod before Yun leaves the tent with Dian Wei and Gan Ning.

They get their horses and travel towards the middle of what soon their battlefield would be as they waited for the enemy Generals arrived it was Lu Bu and a man that seemed to be a barbarian.

"You wanted to talk to us," says the Barbarian not knowing that they sent the messenger to them.

Gan Ning and Dian Wei were confused by that sentence as Yun says, "I wanted to meet the mighty Lu Bu since it is such a nice day."

Lu Bu catches on quickly as Yun was talking in code to him when he says, "I would love to have a duel with you and crush you into the ground."

Yun couldn't feel any excitement from Lu Bu which meant that Lu Bu caught on that he was talking in code. Dian Wei and Gan Ning knew that Lu Bu wasn't himself since he would normally be smiling in excitement when he challenges Yun to a duel and not cross his arms in front of his chest.

Shadow then landed on Yun's shoulder and Yun whispered something to her before she flew away when Yun looks at Lu Bu before looking at the barbarian.

"Tomorrow the battle shall begin. Both sides will respect that once the sun is going down we stop fighting and return to our camps after gathering the wounded," says Yun as the barbarian was confused about all this.

"We are here to fight not to follow some bullshit rules," says the barbarian as Yun smiled at him distracting him while Lu Bu followed Shadow who was overflying a position.

"So be it then. My strategist will thank you for overthrowing me," says Yun before he turned serious and says, "But we will begin our battle tomorrow. And if you have anything against it I will kill you right here right now."

Yun was radiating killing intent which made the barbarian sweat a bit since in his eyes Yun grew bigger and bigger than he already was.

Yun smiled at him looking like a madman in the barbarian's eyes before saying, "I will love to meet you on the battlefield. We will have so much fun."

"We will meet at the battlefield then," says Yun as he and the other two mounted their horses and rode back to their camp.

"What was that feeling?" asks Hua Xiong himself while looking at his hands which were full of sweat.

"You just experienced fear. You will be useless now against General Yun," says Lu Bu mocking Hua Xiong for losing his composure like that but it helped him to organize a secret meeting with Yun before he mounted his horse and rushed back to his camp leaving Hua Xiong behind.

The three riders returned to their camp and the soldiers all returned to what they were doing while they went for the main tent.

"You are back," says Tang Shi as they were looking on a rough map of the area they were in.

"Pang Tong, you can go all out with skirmishes. This was only a farce to set up a secret meeting," says Yun to Pang Tong who was relieved that he could use all of his tactics against the enemy.

"A secret meeting?" asks Huang Zhong as Yun nods.

"Yes, tonight I will meet Lu Bu in the place Shadow was flying over for a while. Dian Wei, you and your men will accompany me," says Yun as Dian Wei was quite happy to be used effectively to protect Yun.

Pang Tong already had a battle plan ready for tomorrow but now that things have changed he needed to organize a new one that he had already in mind before Yun stopped him.

He had a wicked smile on his face which made all the commanders in the tent know that he was back brewing a master plan that will crush the enemy in the shortest time possible.

Yun smiled at Pang Tong knowing that he was perfect for his army as he told them the new plan when Yun had an odd feeling when he says, "I will be in the left-wing of the formation."

"But you should be in the center as the most important person on the field," says Tang Shi as Yun shakes his head.

"No, the most important member is Pang Tong and you. You both will be in the center that way I can drag Lu Bu's attention away from the center and right-wing since he will try to collapse on me," says Yun as Pang Tong thought about it.

He smiled even creepier than before saying, "Our Lord is right. Only a handful of our people can fight against Lu Bu but Lu Bu will most likely try to isolate Yun as Yun wants to isolate him from battle."

"Lu Bu will most likely lead the center and that will make a hole in their formation as they will have to move their men following Lu Bu to attack our Lord," says Pang Tong as he moved the center-piece of the enemy towards their left-wing showing that the enemy left-wing needs to close the gap between them.

"That is when we strike with our right-wing," says Pang Tong moving their right-wing to eliminate the enemy left-wing by attacking its rear while the center-piece rushed in to attack the left flank of the enemy center-piece.

"That sounds logical but our Lord will have to risk his life," says Huang Zhong as he liked the plan but the stacks were too high when Yun smiles in excitement.

"I like the plan. We will do it like that but make the left-wing smaller and the right-wing bigger. The sooner the right-wing is done with the enemy they can join the center and pincer attack the enemy center," says Yun liking the plan Pang Tong made.

"How many people should we place in the left-wing?" asks Tang Shi as Yun was thinking about it.

"Make it three thousand men while the center has fifteen thousand and the right-wing will be made out of the rest," says Yun as Pang Tong loved those numbers while the others didn't since Yun was risking his life like always.

After everything was done and the sun was setting Yun went with Dian Wei and his group towards the place Shadow choose for the secret meeting.

Yun and his men arrived there first as they waited Dian Wei asks, "Do you think he will be coming?"

"He will or he wouldn't have asked for it in code," says Yun as they waited when Lu Bu arrived with his two trusted men, Zhang Liao and Gao Shun.

He had two people with them who were wearing hoods over their heads to cover their face but Yun knew right away who they were since one was running straight at him.

"Uncle Yun," says the small bundle of energy as Yun grabs her and lifts her up.

"What is the little tigress doing here?" asks Yun sounding like a child when she hugs him.

"Dad said that it would be safer for us to stay with you for a while until everything has settled down," says Lu Huixiu as she grabbed Yun's face and played with it for a bit.

"Huixiu, don't do that it is unrespectful to do that to your uncle," says Wei Mei as she took Huixiu from Yun's arms.

Yun gives a hand signal to Lu Bu while saying to Dian Wei, "Stay here and make sure that no one interrupts our conversation."

"Yes, my lord," says Dian Wei as he positioned his men around the area to make sure no one followed Lu Bu and his escorts while Yun retreated with Lu Bu to a more secluded area.

"Why aren't they in Luoyang?" asks Yun directly not wanting to hit around the bushes to find out.

"I don't trust Dong Zhuo to look after them," says Lu Bu as he looked straight into Yun's eyes.

"So you trust your current enemy more than your adopted father," says Yun as Lu Bu couldn't deny that.

"I trust that the father-in-law of my daughter can keep her and her mother safe for some time," says Lu Bu as Yun looked at him in disbelief before he sighs.

"It seems that you already joined Wang Yun's side to get Dong Zhuo from his throne and putting the Young Emperor back on his throne," says Yun as Lu Bu opened his eyes showing little surprise before he chuckled.

"It seems the World can't hide anything from you," says Lu Bu finding it funny that Yun already knew what was going on in Luoyang.

"I will look after them, but you owe me now two favors," says Yun as he smiled at Lu Bu who nods and Yun continues, "Good, then I wish you good luck tomorrow since Pang Tong has created a masterpiece."

"I really can't wait until I have my own strategist," says Lu Bu being a bit jealous of Yun having one.

"You will owe me a third favor if you want to save many of your men tomorrow," says Yun as Lu Bu will need to protect as many of his men as possible to be able to rebel against Dong Zhuo later on.

"You think we will lose that many men to you tomorrow," says Lu Bu as now the usual Lu Bu came forward having a wild smile on his face thinking Yun was challenging him.

"Oh, you will and you need as many men as possible to rebel against Dong Zhuo," says Yun as their foreheads were against each other to see who had a stronger will.

"Fine, what should I do to save as many people as possible?" asks Lu Bu as he gave up.

"Put your Barbarian friend on your right-wing with his men and let him die to my spear before you rush in to save the remaining men. That way you will gain more men that are loyal to you and you will have a reason to retreat back to Luoyang since Sun Jian will be here in two days maximum.

Dong Zhuo will see the advancing army as a threat and he will retreat to Chang'an. The Coalition won't be following him there and you will have a big opportunity to kill Dong Zhuo when he lets his guard down," says Yun as Lu Bu was looking at his soon-to-be family-in-law with a crazy stare.

"How far have you already calculated your moves for your pieces?" asks Lu Bu a bit scared to know it.

"Four years," says Yun as he planned four years into the future going by the timeline he knows but the timeline has changed since many great generals are under him.

Lu Bu was shocked to hear that as he was beginning to believe that Yun didn't need a strategist if he could plan that far into the future before Yun began to have some small talk with Lu Bu.

Hope you like it.
