Sometimes the most unbelievable changes happen in an instant.
Awakening wouldn't be the right term for Leo's current situation. After what seemed like eternity with his personal replay, Leo felt. He had long forgotten the taste of the air, pressure from blood and the expanding of his chest.
Revelling in this blissful moment, constantly trying to reaffirm his existence. Sound flooding in as he heard the clanging of pots and plates, muffled through the floor below.
Feeling a faint memory associated to the familiar? sounds. Opening his eyes he took in a white ceiling. Refocusing on himself and trying to reaffirm this was real, a voice called out from the door "Peter honey. Time to get up".
Peter? The name jump started a series of memories. Like a flood of white noise seemed to overtake him, buzzing from the sudden memories. Practically jolted into sitting up he looked down at his young arms. No longer sleepy he assessed his 'new' limbs. Kicking the blanket off his legs, he scrambled to look at himself.
Here he was standing blank faced in front of his bedroom mirror. Looking back was a thin boy barely 4 or 5, short shaggy brown hair. Refocusing on the mirror he sees a small picture on the nearby bedside table. There standing within the picture were his uncle and aunt and himself, smiling happily amongst ourselves.
Noticing the name on the nearby notebook right beside said picture. Peter Parker! Then like a key being turned his mind finally clicked, like a series of mental explosions. Another reminder called out from the stairs outside the door "Peter, honey. Breakfast is ready. Quickly wash up and come down".
Feeling a surreal sense of acknowledgement, his body moved by itself.
Unaware that the days ahead would be equally baffling.
