— PURPLE TEAM POV —
By now the nerves were part of the day before the match routine. It was difficult to get used to the fact that in just a few rounds you could disappear. But they were soldiers. They were used to it. But for some reason, this time it felt different.
– Is everybody ready? I don't see you with your heads in the battlefield! We could die, you know! —exclaimed Regina, her booming voice resonating through entire warehouse—.
Can you shut up? We're sufficiently trained and you just make it worst. —said Luke, getting up from his bed and making his way to the door—.
Hey, Luke… —Regina approached him, putting her hand on his shoulder— you need to be more careful, you know? You're talking to your leader.
Luke took Regina's hand and harshly push it out of his body.
– And you know what, Regina? I don't care.
With that said, Luke exited the warehouse. Regina's face was as red as a tomato. She felt impotent. She couldn't bear the fact that someone wouldn't obey everything she said. Agatha stood up and approached her quickly
– D-do you want to drink some water at the cafeteria? I-it could help you.… Let's go.
– Regina.
Dominik approached her.
– I hope you stay silent about what you saw yesterday.
With nothing else to say, he too exited the warehouse. Regina clicked her tongue. She felt she was losing her authority.
Raphael was the last one to stay in the warehouse. He couldn't stop thinking about Zorn and what happened recently. He clenched his fist and remembered he wouldn't give up. He stood up with all the security he could. He knew where the Red Team's warehouse was and sneakily went and continued to spy on Zorn. Since the day he got rejected, he has been following him. He was sure he was hiding something.
Luke, who was walking around the coliseum, noticed how Raphael was spending too much time near the Red Team's warehouse. He squinted and decided to find out what was going om, he couldn't do much else anyway.
– What are you doing?
Luke's voice startled Raphael.
– My God… Do you want to scare me to death!?
– Well… you're standing here looking very suspicious, what are you doing?
Raphael sighed and took Luke by the wrist, taking him to the back of the warehouse.
– Look, don't tell anyone. But Zorn isn't as good as he seems to be.
– Oh? What makes you think that?
– … Just believe me, I've seen him with my own eyes. He's very suspicious and always looks like a friendly person and all that, but he isn't. He's someone cold hearted and insensible.
Luke sighed. Truthfully, what Raphael said seemed stupid. But he remembered something. They still didn't have anyone to cast suspicions on. They didn't know who could be behind all that's happening. It was a stretch, but Luke decided to trust him and see if Zorn was really the one.
– So, are you spying him because…?
– To see if he does something suspicious. You don't know in who you can trust in this place.
– You know, I'm interested. Stay here.
Raphael tilted his head to the side, confused. But knowing someone believed him and was going to help him made him feel relieved. Meanwhile, a mysterious figure was listening to the entire conversation. Hearing Luke's steps, it disappeared out of the place. Luke continued on his way not noticing anything.
Alec and Augustus were inside their warehouse. Luke went in and approached them. He explained them that they finally had a hint about someone, it wasn't the most trustworthy one but they needed to start somewhere. Alec and Augustus shrugged and decided to trust him.
The 3 of them made their way to were Raphael was waiting.
– Raphael, these are Alec and Augustus. They're from Orange Team.
– What do you have for us? —asked Alec—.
– Well…
Raphael told them the same thing he did to Luke. Alec was a bit confused. All those assumptions were a bit vague, but they didn't have anything else. He sighed and agreed. Augustus wasn't convinced still.
At the end, the 4 of them decided to spy on Zorn for the rest of the day. They followed him everywhere he went, trying very hard not to get caught. The day was passing by and so far, there wasn't anything suspicious at all. Zorn was just your typical guy, he trained and talked with his teammates, specially with Luna. Alec, Augustus and Luke were starting to get desperate. The day was ending and nothing suspicious happened. It was almost midnight.
– Raphael! What the heck are we doing? We've spent the day doing absolutely nothing! —exclaimed Alec—.
– Wait! I know something is going to happen… we just need t-…
In that instant, they noticed how Zorn sneaked behind the Red Team's warehouse. Without thinking it twice, they went after him. They felt like finally they got what they've been looking for, and were ready to caught it.
– AHA! —shouted Raphael—.
Zorn was on the ground, feeding a small squirrel that was in there.
– Ah ha…?
– Wh-what are you doing! —continued shouting Raphael, pointing at him—.
– I was feeding this little squirrel… —said Zorn, taking said squirrel into his hands— you know how they usually release some animals before and after matches to relieve stress…
Luke sighed profusely, hiding his face with both hands. In that moment, Dominik appeared behind them.
– What's going on here?
– What a big waste of time! —screamed Alec— to think we were suspicious of this person…
– Of me? Suspect what? —asked Zorn, getting up from the ground—.
– Y-you don't fool me! I know you're the one behind all of this!
– What…?
– What are you saying, Raphael! Are you crazy!? —said Dominik— how can you accuse someone of that!?
– He isn't the good person he appears to be!
– THAT'S ENOUGH!
Augustus voice could be in the entire coliseum.
– This is so stupid, let's go, Augustus.
– Hey, what is this party all about, at almost midnight? —said Regina, with Agatha behind her—.
– Oh, just what we needed, the demon's queen… —said Luke—.
– What did you call me!?
– L-let's go guys, we're being too n-noisy… —spoke Agatha, trying to calm everyone down—.
– I thiiiink this is not the place for me. —said Zorn, walking away from the scene—.
– I'm sorry, it was all a misunderstanding. —answered Augustus—.
Zorn made his way back to the front of the warehouse. Dominik behind him. He had decided to protect Zorn. Nothing else mattered, not even his own team. He couldn't trust in them, anyways.
