Worse than when I started off

" I saw Guo Liang introducing another woman as his girlfriend to his boss!" Lolia exclaimed out loud.

BANG

Qian Yih slammed the table, attracting many on-lookers to stare at her.

"What?"

Lolia gulped, this was a bad place to explain. She rummaged through her bag, ultimately fishing out her phone.

Proof.

Qian Yih stared at Lolia's phone, watching slowly as Guo Liang cheated on her, hugging the woman, kissing her and even grabbing her butt.

Qian Yih closed her eyes momentarily, comprehending what she had just seen.

Lolia turned off her phone, concern filled her eyes as she nudged Qian Yih.

" No... That can't be him, Guo Liang wouldn't cheat on me, " Qian Yih convinced herself.

Guo Liang's voice on the video suddenly exclaimed, " My woman, Qian Lian! I love you and you only!"

Qian Lian smiled, " You're lying, you love my sister!"

Clearly drunk in his infatuation, Guo Liang placed a kiss on Qian Lian's ruby lips, " I fucking hate her, I only love you. My darling!"

Lolia sniffed, rummaging through her bag again in search of a tissue. As if she was possessed, Qian Yih picked up her spoon and fork and continued eating. Surprised, Lolia kept her packet of tissues, hoping that Qian Yih would feel better.

But, of course, she wasn't.

Slam.

The apartment seemed especially cold today. The pictures of Guo Liang with her mocked her. How could one be so stupid? Idiot, she called herself. She lowered herself down to the sofa.

Sigh.

She threw her bag aside. Curling up into a ball, she cried her heart out.

" Why can't anyone love me? What's wrong with me? Why? Why?" She banged her head on her knees in frustration, " What the hell did I do? What? Why? Why..."

Qian Yih cried until the tears lulled her to sleep.

She looked around. Her entire body felt exhausted. A headache plagued her mind while her limbs sore from sleeping in a bad position. Qian Yih forced herself to get up, hobbling to the toilet, she got herself ready for work.

" We will be working closely with Long Corps. for this project, Qian Yih you are to go over to Long Corps. to gather information and present our project. You are to attend a meeting in Meeting Room 2 at Long Corps.'s main building, I expect you to be on time, it starts at 11 am sharp, here are the documents you need to work on." The team leader quickly disseminated the information and passed Qian Yih a thick stack of papers.

Emotionless, Qian Yih accepted the papers and checked the time. 10 am. She let on a small smile, she would have enough time to grab breakfast on the way.

" We are starting the meeting soon!" The presenter checked the time.

Qian Yih flew through the door, afraid that she might be late. They had pushed the meeting forward by half an hour. Long Corps. took punctuality very seriously, even the CEO had to arrive on time to meetings.

Qian Yih took a seat and flipped through her papers, taking in every bit of information that would be beneficial to her presentation.

Long Wei kept his eyes on Qian Yih. Did she even notice him? Most presenters had immediately greeted his secretary, Jun Chen since they thought that Jun Chen was actually the CEO.

" Let's start!" Jun Chen announced.

Firstly, formalities. All the presenters greeted each other and Jun Chen, while Qian Yih did the same, but also greeting Long Wei, unlike the rest.

Long Wei nodded, seemingly unaffected by the lack of respect among the presenters.

Next, the presenters slowly went one by one, explaining their ideas and opinions.

Finally, it was Qian Yih's turn. As she explained her plans and rebuttals against the other parties, Long Wei watched admiringly at her. A strong independent woman who could handle anything. Her finish product looked extremely eye-catching and interesting, sure it was a little risky but who didn't do business with risks?

He looked down at his phone, sending a message to Jun Chen. Seeing Jun Chen look down at his phone, Long Wei let out a small grin.

" Pause, " Jun Chen held out his palm, " Ms Qian, could I see your file?"

Qian Yih widened her eyes in surprise, she fumbled for her file which she had long placed down as she had already memorised her points and evidence. Around her, the presenters leaned forward as if waiting for some juicy news. If the boss wanted to see your file, it can only mean two things. One, it was so badly explained that he wanted to see your notes himself. Or two, it was so good he wanted to see if you really wrote everything down.

Jun Chen flipped through Qian Yih's notes quietly, his eyes scanning over everything. Qian Yih gulped, was her presentation that bad?

" Good, we'll take this, " Finally, Long Wei announced.

Jun Chen looked up at his boss, raising up his eyebrow. His boss was so captivated by this Miss, could he just admit it. Even though Qian Yih's presentation was indeed the best out of all of the others, he could at least wait for Jun Chen to announce it, right? Long Wei glared back, seemingly offended by his reaction. Jun Chen smiled sheepishly and turned back to the presenters with a straight face.

" May I ask a question?" A presenter's shrill voice rang out.

Ugh.

Jun Chen gestured at the presenter to shoot away.

Her pointy manicured nails pointed towards Long Wei, " What right does he have to talk like that?"

Long Wei swept his hair back, clearly amused by the presenter. Jun Chen silently cursed her, as a boss, of course, Long Wei would have the right to talk.

" What's your name?"

" Min Yee, Terrific Association, " She continued, unfazed by Long Wei's low and dangerous tone.

Long Wei smiled cruelly, nodding towards Jun Chen. Jun Chen opened his file, fishing out a notice. He passed it over to Min Yee smilingly.

Min Yee stared at the notice, her clever face quickly melting away, instead, a scared expression came to the surface. Almost immediately, she ran out of the door.

Qian Yih shook her head. Rule no.1 of doing business, respect everyone.

" Meeting dismissed, " Long Wei waved off the presenters.

Qian Yih picked up her files and notes, almost stumbling over her heels. Long Wei immediately dashed over, supporting Qian Yih as she gained her balance.

" Thanks, "

For a moment, Long Wei's eyes clouded. He was almost on cloud nine. Not noticing Long Wei's eyes, Qian Yih walked off, her heels clicking as she left the room.
