The Day

Days went by and it was the last day of her exam. Elsa got out of the exam hall with a huge smile on her face . She was really excited for the execution of her surprise, she planned for him.

She looked at her watch and saw that she finished her exam, half an hour early. Now, she had to wait for him as Ray had the tendency to sit inside the exam hall till the last minute.

Elsa was bored, so she stood outside the hall and looked at Ray, who was busy writing his exam.She was busy admiring his serious expression ,when for some reason, he looked up from his paper to meet her eyes.

He saw how her bored look disappeared and brightened up. He found himself smiling in response. He knew that she was waiting to hang out but he still had to finish his paper.

' Damn! Why is this taking so long!' Ray sighed and gestured ten minutes with his mouth and went back to write.

Elsa , on the other hand , smiled and went off to a side to wait for him patiently.She took out her phone and started reading her manga.

After sometime, Adina came near her and sighed, "We should actually find out who was behind this question paper." And glared at her question paper.

Elsa laughed and said," I'm pretty sure you will get high marks as you do everytime."

"But this was so hard... Most of the answers I guessed."

" That's what you say every exams." Elsa rolled her eyes and added," Toppers get high marks even when they say its hard but for others, they get low marks irrespective of the exam being hard or easy."

Adina smacked her head with her hand and glared at her.

Elsa just shook her head and helped her load her stuff inside her bag.

"Let's go eat something... I'm starving.."

"I can't... I'm going out with Ray after this.. We have a date. " Elsa smilingly said.

"Ohh..you are...? I thought we could hang out." Adina sighed disappointedly.

"Sorry... Let's hang out, next time." Elsa squeezed her hand apolgetically.

"Okay... So I will leave, you are waiting for him, right?"

Elsa nodded and looked at Adina who smiled and waved her hand.

Elsa checked her watch and saw that it was past twenty minutes.She was about to check on him when she saw that he came out smiling at her.

Elsa puffed her cheeks up which made Ray chuckle. "You look cute" and pinched her puffed cheeks.

Elsa pouted at him and remained silent. Ray carried his bag on his shoulder and started walking. Few steps ahead, Ray looked behind him and saw that Elsa was still standing at the same place.

" Are you waiting for someone? Or want to go on a date?"

Elsa jumped in joy and a smile broke out on her face.She rushed towards him and held his hand.

"Let's go.." and began dragging him. Ray chuckled and hoped that she would love his surprise.

Elsa asked," Where are we going?" as they got onto a bus to the city.

"Well... It's a surprise...you will know it, when you reach there."

"I'm looking forward to it." Ray could see her eyes shining in excitement. He couldn't bear to disappoint her.

"It's not much..I hope you like it... " Ray whispered.

Elsa heard it and snuggled closer to him and said," I will... There is a saying, you know, 'Thought counts' " and winked at him.

Ray laughed and placed his arm around her.

Ray and Elsa got down at one of the busiest places and Elsa looked at Ray questioningly. Ray just shook his head and crossed the road while holding her hand. After some time, Elsa nudged his arm and asked," Come on, spill it... Are you taking me out for lunch?"

Ray laughed and remained silent, on seeing that she followed him ,complaining silently inside, while Ray walked in front, dragging her along.

As she was busy complaining, she didn't notice Ray halt, as a result, she crashed onto his back. She cried while taking her hand out of his and rubbing her nose.

Before she could complain, she noticed the huge building in front of them. Her eyes widened when she recognized the place.

She looked at him in joy and jumped," You brought me to a library? A library?"

Ray laughed at her happiness, she was literally squealing in front of him and was jumping around ignoring the looks people were giving them.

" Shush now, Don't you want to go in ? Or do you want to stay here and jump around?"

Elsa quietened down and nodded at him. She took the first step, No...,she literally ran few steps ahead before she stopped and looked at him.

Elsa smiled shyly," Umm... Let's go?"

Ray was amused at her reaction, he expected her to be happy but didn't expect her to be overjoyed.

Little did he know how much Elsa wanted to visit a library. She was born and brought up in this city but its a shame to actually let people know that she is yet to visit the most beautiful places. The library he brought her to was well known and even people not interested in books would have visited it once, much less ,than one's interested in it. And, then there was she who loved books but haven't visited the library until now.

He laughed at her embarassed face before he gave his card to the librarian. The librarian, on seeing the young couple reminded them to be quiet before he let them off.

Elsa didn't wait for Ray before she stepped inside the room. She saw many shelves arranged row-wise, filled with books. There were genres specified above the shelf to make it easy for everyone to find their books.

Elsa walked towards the Fiction shelf and began rummaging the books. Ray just stood by her side and watched her. He watched how her expressions changed- sometime's it was joy ,sometime's it was surprise and then, how she can't bear to let go of it.He listened when she started pointing out the books she had at home.

She had a huge smile on her face while she walked around the library.To her surprise, there wers books from different language as well. She didn't bother to check them ,even if they were interesting ,as she wouldn't be able to understand it.

She took out one book from the shelf, which caught her attention and started reading the description at the back of the book.It looked interesting, so she decided to give the book a try. She found a seating place near the shelves and sat down to read.

Seeing that Elsa was busy reading, Ray took some random book and joined her. He didn't bother reading but watched her read. He was surprised at how fast she finishes a page and chuckled when he thought how she forgot about him.

He snapped some pictures of her reading and looked at her lovingly. After few minutes, he saw that she stopped reading and glanced at her watch. She hurriedly closed the book and said,"Let's go or else we won't get enough time."

Ray was confused , so he asked," But we have plenty of time.. It's just twelve.."

"Yeah.. it is.. We don't have time. "

" But I thought, I would get to spend the entire afternoon with you, Won't I?"

Elsa laughed ," Yes, you will silly! I have to show my surprise too."

" Wh-aat... you have a surprise also!" Ray was shocked, then later shook his head. 'It's Elsa.. I should have expected it.'

"You really don't know how to stop planning things,huh. " Ray chuckled

Elsa pouted," So, you don't want my surprise?"

"Yes.. Of course, yes... Let's go." Ray stood up from his seat and took the book she was reading along with him and queued in front of the librarian.

Before Elsa could tell him, he said," You can take this under my card.. It would be a waste if you can't complete it."

Elsa smiled shyly," Okay... you do that while I call my Mom." and went out of the room to call her.

Ray was puzzled on why she wanted to call her mom but then ignored it and got the book marked under his card.

As he stepped out of the room, he noticed her still on the phone, so he went to take their bags before going near her.

He could still hear her asking," Do we have any food at home?" Ray nudged her shoulder and she smiled at him and said," Okay mom, bye.. I will call you as soon as I reach home."

" Do you have to leave early?" Ray furrowed his brows worriedly.

"Umm ...nope... Why?"

"Then, why did you tell her that you will call her asap?"

"Ohh that's normal... but before I forget, Thank you baby for this surprise... I was on cloud nine the entire time ." and Elsa proceeded to hug his arm.

Ray smiled and patted her head," As long as it makes you happy, I will do anything for you."

Those words brought tears to her face, she thanked the heavens for granting her such a considerate, caring and loving boyfriend.

As they got out of the compound, Ray curiously asked," So, What's your surprise?"

Elsa could barely restrain her happiness that she blurted," We are going to my place."
