I seem to finally understand why filler or fillers are needed. This is when the author gets tired of writing dialogs, but he needs to keep the pace of chapter production. Then he writes just a filler. On the one hand, he formally adheres to the schedule, writes his 1,500 words a day, issues 2 chapters a day. It is possible to maintain such a rhythm if the idea of writing is interesting and inspires the author or if it is just a filler, where dialogs are minimized.
On the other hand, it's not so interesting to the reader and it's ok if these are free chapters. The reader will only grumble and that's all, and if paid, then fillers are just a swindle! Money spent for air and not of the most excellent quality.
Fillers are rarely more interesting than the novel itself.
New ideas
______
The idea came up to write a new short novel about cooking. But if you have 5 more novels (4 novels), starting to write a new novel doesn't seem like such a good idea ?! The name means a lot! "Gourmet" but it is more like plagiarism of an idea. Although in the 21st century, almost any idea of the novel looks like plagiarism. Since the authors of the 17-20th century, they tried a lot of stories and titles.
To include a new idea or a new novel in an old story would not be entirely correct, since the main story would be lost, and it would look like an inappropriate filler.
But how to write a new novel - the conditional name is a culinary or gourmet. It seems that the idea is on the surface, but the real realization of the idea, it turns out to be worse than the idea itself.
Not enough imagination? Not enough romance? Not enough vocabulary? Well, this is a business, you just need to read more!
How many chapters should there be? Probably not chapters but words? 25000 or 45000? Everything seems to depend on the plot. The average in one chapter can be from 600 to 1200 words.
Some 600-word chapters are easier to read than 1200-word chapters. But it all depends on the author's mastery, if the letter is good and the plot is interesting, the content is new and not cliché, then it's easy to read 1200 words in the chapter. For a beginning author, I think it's better to write 600-700 words in a chapter.
So far, the new gourmet novel remains under discussion.
Maybe first you need to finish at least two previously begun novels, and then start a new one? Or is it worth adding new chapters and a story to an old novel?
