I almost forgot what the hell is happening today. I am both excited and nervous about seeing Peter, it's been at least three years since we've hung out like this.
I crawl out of bed and stretch, usually on Saturdays I take Jack to breakfast and we might go see a movie or we find some other thing to entertain us. I skip getting dressed for now and go downstairs to make breakfast, I know mom and dad aren't here because they always have to work on weekends.
I whip up some eggs, waffles, sausage and toast then wash the dirty dishes and go upstairs to wake up Jack.
"Jack wake up, I made breakfast." I shake his shoulder, but he doesn't get up. "Jack! seriously I don't have time for this so either you get up or I will make you get up." Jack is playing a dangerous game with me, he knows that I'm not bluffing, last time he did this I went and got a whole bucket full of ice water and soaked him with it. He still won't budge, so I look around his room for a stray pillow on the ground, I pick it up, and I whack him with it repeatedly while shouting, "WAKE UP, WAKE UP, WAKE UP!" He wakes up and starts blocking my hits. "HEY! What are you doing this to me for?" I throw the pillow down to the foot of his bed. "I am waking you up because I just made breakfast, come on."
He gets up and trails behind me all the way downstairs, and we make our plates and sit down to eat. "Jack, I'm going into the city today, I'll be leaving in about two hours." I take a sip of my water and wait for Jack to finish his bite so he can talk. "You're going into the city all by yourself?" "No, I'm going with Peter." He furrows his brows when I say this, "I thought that you two weren't friends anymore?" I shake my head, "We are, it's just complicated right now," I take another drink of water, "anyways, I'll be gone for I don't know how long so I'm trusting that you're old enough to be here by yourself without a babysitter." Jack just rolls his eyes at me, "I'll be fine here, I'm just going to throw a huge party with strippers and alcohol once you leave." "Mhm, very funny Jack."
I finish my food and head upstairs to get ready. I shower and then go get my clothes on. We will be walking around a lot, so I make sure I pick out something warm. I decide to pick out a plain black shirt that I put on under my navy blue, slightly oversized sweater. For the bottoms, I pick out some dark grey skinny jeans, and I throw on my white boot socks and fold them over. I put on my black high-top Converse shoes and throw on some rings as something extra. It's 10:33 a.m right now, and I need to pick up Peter in half an hour. I go into the bathroom and straighten my hair, brush my teeth, throw on some mascara and lipgloss since I'm not big on makeup, and spray on a little perfume. I head back downstairs to find Jack sitting on the couch watching something on t.v. I put on my black jacket and grab my purse, checking that I have everything I need.
"Okay Jack, I am about to leave, you know where our spending money is if you want to walk to the store, but please be careful and dress warm if you do, don't answer the door for weird people, we have cameras for a reason, don't let any of your stupid ass friends in either," I make sure to emphasize that part, "if you use the stove make sure you turn it off when you're done and put your dishes in the washer and um... yeah don't die okay?" I'm standing at the front door now, "Yeah, I know Jai, go on now before you're late, I love you." "I love you too." I go to him and plant a kiss on the top of his head and quickly go out the door before he swats at me. I lock the door then head down the driveway to my car, get in, and start driving to Peter's house, it's been a while since this has happened.
