He grabbed hold of her from the back, "Lady Ayah, you must comply."
This voice ---- "Yen.. . .."
"They...already have the family hostage. Since the very second, you agreed, bit by bit they've been pulling people out of the manor and holding them hostage."
. . . no.
That can't be. Because even if that place could never be called home for her. It doesn't change the fact that she had been raised there by those people. Princess Lyn, please. Please remain safe. There's nothing she can do but stay here. However, she's already made her mind up. This helpless feeling, she will also turn it into her strength, she turned to Yen and pulled him to a deep hug, "Wah Lady Ayah?"
"Hold me also, don't make it obvious."
There's only one thing she can do now.
....
"No Yen, take me back! Take me back to Princess Lyn; Princess Lyn will die!" Ayah exclaimed at the white-haired man. She will die for sure.
Rhys said it to her. He told her,' Even with my medicines; the final stages have already manifested. She won't last long if she keeps using any form of power. Her king powers aside, the curse powers can act as a deadly poison. Her body will be devoured at a quicker rate if she uses them.
"No.. take me back... Princess Lyn will... "
This isn't what she wanted to happen, even if she dislikes the girl. Ayah never wanted to harm her like this.
"I'm sorry, Lady Ayah, but I cannot put you in harm's way. Even I know the effects of being near her when she uses her curse powers. If, if it's just going to be us two left, then I will devote my life to you."
As he held her in his arms, Ayah immediately noted that he was shivering. Ah -- that's right, she isn't the only one who's afraid.
". . Yen, it's..going to be okay..." Ayah said despite the sobs.
Her thoughts broke off when she heard the sound of a horse galloping at a rapid rate when she spotted Rhys; she called out to him, "Rhys!!"
Rhys stopped and automatically got off his horse, he grabbed hold of her collar and lifted the blade up towards Yen. "One of the goons over there spilled it. Now Ayah, are we going to play this the hard way, or are you going to tell me everything? Relax, since you're a girl I'll actually be kinder."
Ah, now this is a normal reaction. Princess Lyn is simply strange, after all. This is normal, and she's sure the others will react the same too. But she has no time for hesitations.
"I'll tell you everything, I.." It took Ayah a few minutes to compose herself, and she soon received a slap right after.
"I shouldn't have trusted you at all. What on earth was I thinking? A woman like you, somebody like you.."
Those words, it's so painful to hear. But doesn't she deserve this? She deserves everything coming to her...
Rhys raised his hand to hit her again only to have his arm grabbed. Her eyes widened when she saw who it was, "J."
"Halt, traitor, or not. This girl is under my care; I shall deal with it."
"Tsk."
"Rhys, this isn't the time. The Princess . ."
"Beth is right; let 's be on our way."
With those words said she watched as the three left on horseback. All the energy left in her legs went away, and she collapsed on to the ground. Yen looked over at her concerned, but Ayah shook her head, "I'm alright."
Princess Jen bends down, and her eyes went wide when she reached over and patted her head. "It is alright to cry. You can relax, I sent my men to save your family, and they will be transferred within my grounds. You do not have to carry the burden yourself, but I suppose it is awkward relying on me after this time. Ayah, go to sleep. When you wake up, it will all be over."
-----
Present Day
Ayah opened her eyes and felt her entire body aching all over. The
"Oh your up," hearing that familiar voice. Ayah looked over and spotted Rhys. She immediately understood the situation and sighed. "Hey, it's not that bad."
"Why did I lose to you again?"
"Again, you remember it isn't the first time? Did you really think you could win."
Actually, Ayah knew she couldn't, that's why she used that dirty trick and appeared like that and stabbed him last time. During a regular fight, she doesn't stand a chance against Rhys at all.
"You called out Lyn's name in your sleep."
"I didn't."
Rhys sighed, "You're still acting stubborn on this? After that kidnapping case, you avoided her like the plague, and then that thing during graduation happened. You know Ayah, Lyn never blamed you for what happened back then. Other peoples lives were on the line, sacrificing one person's life over several - anybody would make that choice."
"Would you?"
"No," Rhys shook his head, "Some stubborn idiot taught me a way to ensure everybody survives."
Ayah laughed, "You see? There are means to save everybody, but I will always choose to sacrifice."
Rhys walked over and settled down the tray. "Eat first, and then we can talk."
"What is there to talk about, do you think you've won because you've captured me?"
"One I'm not keeping you captive, two there is only me and two others in this place."
Isn't she heavily guarded? How naive of him. Just because she is depleted of strength does not mean she can't escape. "Aren't you worried I'll kill you?"
"Shoot go ahead, but you can't even kill me in my sleep."
"Your powers are such a hindrance," Ayah sighed. Rhys abilities, his magic acts to hinder everything she throws at him. "We both dabble in ancient arts, and yet," Rhys magic is something she has not seen before.
"You don't have to worry about it too much," Rhys said, "My abilities aren't normal. It's just another curse, but one with no weakness."
A curse without weakness? How can that be, even Queen Lyn's curse has a weakness. But now that Ayah thought about it, she never saw Rhys lost a fight before. Even the huge battle that took place back, Rhys he...
"Are you immortal or something?" Ayah hesitated to ask but felt that she might as well.
Rhys smiled, "Relax; I'm not."
A relieved sigh escaped her lips, 'That's the last thing their Kingdom needed.'
