"So you're the one that reported it." A mysterious man said with a thick accent.
"Ha… It's too late now…. I already… sent out a message…" I talk as I slowly lose my breath.
"... Your face looks familiar, like that church lady." He said as his arms slowly lifted me up in the air, slowly and painfully killing me. "It's a shame; why did you have to be on the other side."
I struggle as I pull his arms down to try to breathe and stay awake. As I continuously try to free myself, I hear another set of footsteps slowly getting louder, hobbling closer and closer.
"W-wait! S-She's i-innocent! Don't h-hurt her!" Peter exclaimed.
"But she seems to know our plan." The stranger replied. "The general... "
"J-just knock her o-out." "The risk…" "P-please… if not f-for me, then f-for you." Peter begged.
Too busy trying to stay conscious than to focus on their conversation, I bit down on the stranger's arm. "Agh!" he screamed as he drops me and brought his arm to his chest. "..tch! Agh!"
As I landed on the floor with my knees, I felt the world spinning around me as I tried to stand up. I slowly crawled forward while trying to stand up. Putting my hands to my waist, I felt something hot and wet. Looking down, I see blood at my waist, dripping onto the ground and had left a trail of blood. Suddenly feeling faint, I fall to my knees once more, ready to collapse at any moment.
I looked up to see mother standing there with her back towards me, Ecstatic, I slowly hobbled and crawled my way towards her. Step by step, step by step. Closer and closer to mother and the light behind her. The closer I got to mother, the less pain I felt, the less I heard the men arguing and fighting in the background. "Mother!" I cried out. "Mother! I did my duty!" As I got closer to her, I saw her turn back at me and smile. It was not a happy smile, but a sad smile. A sad smile that told me everything I wanted to hear these past few years. Everything that I wanted to hear for the past few days, past weeks, past months and past years. What I wanted to hear when father was lying on that bed, what I wanted to hear when my brother was crying at night and I didn't know what to do and what I wanted to hear when I wasn't sure what my future was. As I imagined each and every memory of mine with my mother in it, I smiled back at my mother and looked at her to see her walk away. But I knew that those were words that she would never say, but were simply the words I hoped someone would have said.

The sunlight beamed through the windows and into the room, giving the space a heavenly glow. Birds chirping and quiet whispers purveyed through the room. Wait, birds chirping? How? I opened my eyes to see the white ceiling of the familiar infirmary that I had worked in for almost 2 years. How is it possible for birds to be chirping here of all places? As I slowly lift my head up and tried to sit up, I saw a familiar-looking stranger sitting by my side, reading what looked to be my journal. As I opened my mouth to question-
"Ah you're awake!" said the man, his voice identical to the man that strangled me. I shift slowly and hit the wall with my back. However, I don't seem to feel any fear.
"Here, first drink some water." The man said as he passed me a cup of water.
"Now, there are some interesting things inside this book it seems, hm?"
As he talked to me, my eyes slowly grew to the size of saucers and my jaw fell to the ground. But it was his last words that shocked me the most. "It's over. The war has ended."
