Awakening potion…It can be mass produced?

The Awakening potion is necessary to make a person a warrior or a mage. It's like how a spark is used to kick start a fire.

The potion instills a surge of energy into the person that will build up his/her potential which take form in either Ether or Mana or sometimes both, this depends on what the person is more tuned to. A Warrior if he awakens Ether, A Mage if he awakens Mana and special people who awakens both Ether and Mana at the same time are called Defyer but its probability is one in 100 million and the famous Defyers can be counted on two hands. And the Defyers is not necessarily powerful than the other two as it need double the resources to advance in rank, it's very time consuming if the Defyers choose to develop both paths. But they are definitely stronger if they choose to develop both paths and are successful in reaching the peak which is rare as there are only 6 such famous people who had done so and every one of them legends. Most known Defyers that do not have the backing of anyone powerful or could not gather resources on their own would simply choose a single path.

The three classes have their own advantage and disadvantage. If any two different classes fight each other, like a Warrior and Mage that are on same grade then the winner would be the one with more experience, resources, secret skills, battle instinct, bloodline or sometimes even luck.

There are many more situations that can affect the battle. A lower grade can defeat higher grade if he excels at any of the above points. It is also not necessary that a mage has to behave like a long distance attacker and the warrior as melee attacker as they could develop

themselves mirror of there path name.

Dan started making the potion; well anyone who knew how to cook would be able to easily make the potion.

Dan took the pot used for cooking and lit fire under it. He then separated and arranged the herbs into common, rare and in order and amount as instructed in the Mystery Book. That's what Dan calls it for now. And why he even trust that the potion in the book would work better; well he just has a feeling that he will regret it if does not consume the potion that was written in the mystery book.

Maybe it's some conspiracy done bu the book but he can't help it.

He took some fresh milk that was taken from the domestic cow they reared behind the house. After the milk started to boil, he poured the ingredients one by one keeping in mind the order and interval in which he had to put them in and then at the end he added some honey because it was written in the book, maybe to cancel out the sour taste. Stirring it for five minutes, he placed the lid on top of the pot. Now he just had to stir it for after every 15 minutes four times and chant a sentence which he does not understand and then the potion will be cooked.

If the Alchemist around the world came to know how he made the potion, they will definitely puke blood and faint. They will curse and bless his ancestors at the same time. The procedure and the rare ingredients to make the awakening potion by them is very costly and time consuming and the chances to produce it was also low; plus it only gives fifty percent chance to awaken the power of the person who drinks it. Even then it's quite dangerous and painful when going through the process of awakening as the energy within the potion is berserk and the taste of the potion was like sour medicine.

And they definitely can't produce it by such simple method of cooking; they have different apparatus and equipment's to carry out the task. More developed kingdoms had better methods but even there's been not as good as Dan's. If they knew of such method, there would definitely be a bloodbath to acquire it for themselves.

Of course Dan did not know of this now but he had heard about its disgusting taste, danger and cost from his Aunt and Uncle.

Approximately after two hours, a burst of sweet fragrance filled the air in the room. Dan has never smelled anything like this before; he opens the lid on the pot and see that the almost blackish liquid mixture that had filled the pot at the start of the cooking has changed into golden essence liquid that now occupied 1/5 part of the pot and was giving off an appetizing lustful scent you cannot say no to.

Dan poured the liquid into the glass tubes which he took from his Aunt Jess belongings; she used it sometimes to store poison, antidote, blood of the magic beast, etcetera. He got five tubes filled with the potion. What Dan knew was that the alchemist on this island can only make one such potion if they had the required material available and the cost of one Awakening potion in the market was 10 gold coins and the purchaser also has to pledge their allegiance towards the lord they had purchased from. Well in this world some people take their pledge seriously or they will be looked down by others if they ever break it. Of course no lord would be dumb enough to consider the person loyal even if they had taken the pledge as some few Noble's and powerful have their own magical methods to keep them from betraying.

Aunt Jess said that this situation was only in those parts where the power was in the hand of single individual person, faction or family like on this island. In mainland the situation was a little different. Most Noble families would have to coexist with their enemies and parties who are powerful but from common background; and where the population of the rich and common people was not less, and they have to be careful not to anger the masses over such things as in some kingdoms common people have the right to not pledge to anyone but the king.

'Anyway, wouldn't I become rich after I sell these potions, and I can even mass produce them' thought Dan but quickly put that thought out of his mind as it was dangerous for other people to know that he had such method.

'I should be able to consume the potion, it does not seem like poison' thought Dan while drooling. He could tell that even the mystery book wanted him to drink it; not that the book told him personally but it was just a feeling.

Not looking right or left, Dan just poured one of the potions into his mouth.

" ummm…it's so …SWEEEEETTT…" It was as if Dan's soul was awoken by the waves of ecstasy from drinking the potion. "Delicious. It's just too delicious." At this moment, Dan had recovered from the moment of ecstasy; the magical feeling which tantalized his taste buds had left him speechless.

This was the best thing that he had ever tasted. Even the food made by the finest chefs from previous world would definitely not compete with this.

Suddenly he felt his mind throb; he could feel that the potion in his body had started dissolving fast into immense energy which then started rushing through his vessels towards his glabella or more specifically towards his mind where the book was resided. He quickly closed his eyes and concentrated on that book.

Suddenly the book opened by itself and started turning its pages and then finally stopped on a page. Dan observed the page to see if there was anything written on it; he then saw a complex diagram that looked like a runic circle he had seen in one of the magic books that Aunt Jess was reading but it was a lot more complex than that. As Dan was busy observing the diagram, the energy rushed towards page; it vanished right after that as it has been devoured by the diagram. But then nothing happened after that.

'Have I been awakened? Doesn't seem like so. But one tube of potion should have done its job. Maybe it's not the awakening potion…..how can that be? Have I been duped' cried Dan as started feeling the book to see if it had any changes; it was then that he got a feeling of intense hunger from the book. That's right; the book was giving off vibe like a living thing that was pleading to feed it more food. Dan felt its emotion subtly though he could not tell how.

He quickly finished drinking two more potions and it was only after that the mystery book felt satisfied.

The runic diagram then started giving of rainbow lights as some energy poured out from it and entered into his body. The energy felt very gentle not berserk as he had heard about.

Dan started thinking excitedly 'what it going to be, Warrior or Mage or….'

He fainted right after that.
