Back to Town...

Mia took down her coat from the hook and looked back where everyone from her house were standing.

"You sure you don't wanna come, Juna?" Mia asked looking at him.

"Yeah. You two go ahead. I'll drop Grandma and Nana home and then I'll directly come to Seoul."

"Juna!" Grandma said, "I told you, there is no need of you coming, we two can go home…"

"That is right. We can take care of ourselves…" Nana said.

"No." Jun denied right away. "This is winter and it's snowing. What if the trains get blocked and you get stuck somewhere….I don't want that…It's better that I come with you. And besides, don't think that you are too young and can do everything…Especially you, Grandma!" He looked at her from the corner of eyes.

"Okay. Okay. I got it." Grandma said rolling her eyes on which everyone smiled.

"Okay Mother…" Mia said. "…Father…I'll go now…." Saying that she hugged everyone and came in front of Jun. "See you soon, Juna. Come fast." And she went for a hug.

The sound of the horn of the car, made her let out from the hug. She kind of felt something strange, when she looked at Jun's face after she let go off of him. But the next instant, he smiled. A slight smile, with a hint of weakness in his eyes.

She looked at others and saying goodbye, she hurried outside.

Ray was already sitting in the car, waiting for her. Everyone stepped out with Mia. She went towards the car and opened the door.

Mother and Father followed her till the car. She sat inside.

"Take care both of you…" Mother said.

"Don't worry aunty." Ray said. "Sir…"

Father hurriedly came towards the window and bent down to look inside.

"Don't worry sir. I'll take care of your daughter very well!" He smiled.

Mia's father nodded awkwardly as Ray started the car.

"Bye!" Mia waved through the window as the car moved further and away.

Father kept looking at the car till it disappeared before him.

"Honey, let's go inside. It is very cold here…" Mother said breaking him out from his deep thoughts. He looked at her startled.

"W-What happened?" Mother asked.

"..Nothing….I was just thinking….how fast our girl is growing….She has a boyfriend today…Tomorrow she'll marry a guy and…."

"Honey…." Mother's concerned voice made him look at her, "You are worrying too much…There is still a lot time for that…."

He took a deep breath and walked inside with her.

Father, Grandma and Nana, all were sitting at the dining table as Mother was busy doing something at the kitchen counter.

Grandma was knitting something while Father was reading the newspaper.

"My Mia…" Nana broke the silence. "I still can't believe, she has got a….a…"

"A boyfriend?" Grandma completed her sentence.

"Yes…A boyfriend…"

Father looked from above the newspaper.

"I don't even remember that guy….I don't think I've seen him before or Mia has mentioned me about him…" Nana said.

"I also haven't seen him before…But Jun had talked to me several times about him…" Grandma said.

"Really?" Now father came into the conversation. His eagerness made Mother look at him as she stopped cutting the vegetables for a second.

"Yes. He said that guy…Ray is a really good guy and a best friend of him."

Everyone was listening to Grandma's words carefully.

"He is smart, tops in every subject. Good with the sports; friendly, humble and a really nice guy!"

"Really?" Nana asked.

"These are the exact same words, Jun told me." Grandma shrugged her shoulders as she kept knitting.

"….Well, Jun never lies." Nana said.

"And if Jun is saying this much about him, then he might be a really nice guy." Father nodded.

Mother looked at him with a little frown resting on her forehead and then she looked at Grandma, "You know what…." She said after hearing all this, "I never thought of Mia with any other guy…Than—"

At this, Grandma looked up at her and said, "What do you think of this size? Huh?" She held up the half done sweater in her hands, "Do you think it will fit Jun?"

Mother noticed her expressions, she understood that Grandma changed the topic.

"It will fit, Seong Ja." Nana answered instead as she saw her daughter gazing off.

Around two days later, Grandma, Nana along with Jun decided to head back to town.

As Jun was putting the luggage in the cab, Grandma and Nana were saying goodbyes to everyone. Before heading towards the cab, Grandma looked at Mia's mother and said, "All the things should happen naturally and you can't force anyone to do anything. Because then, no one will be happy. If it's God's will, then it will happen surely."

Father, Jina and Nana looked at her puzzled while Mother nodded understandingly. "I will remember that aunty."

"That's like my good girl." Grandma said and headed towards the cab with Nana.

"Aah!" Nana said as she opened the gate and entered her front yard. "It's so good to be back!"

"Give me the keys Nana, I'll open the door." Jun said, hurriedly coming towards her with his hands packed with their luggage.

"Oh no worries sweety!" Nana said. "You are already carrying all this luggage. I will open the door."

Saying that, she started walking towards the door and Jun followed her, "Seung Jaa!!" She called for Grandma. "Why don't you two first come here, I'll make us some hot tea!"

Hearing her, Grandma who was about to open her gate turned her feet and entered her friends yard.

Nana opened the door and let Jun in first. He kept all the bags in a corner.

By that time, Nana and Grandma had also entered the house. Jun went into the kitchen.

"Junaa…" Nana called for him, "Don't do anything in there. I'll make the tea." She said, as she knew what Jun was going to do.

"No, Nana." Jun said from the kitchen. "I'll make the tea. We just had a journey and you two should rest now."

Bu—"

Jun peeked out from the kitchen and said, "Then why am I here? I came here for you two. So just sit back and relax. I will handle everything in the kitchen."

Nana smiled to herself and turned back to see Grandma smiling at her. "He is very stubborn. Won't listen to anyone. Come here and sit for a while."

.

After having tea, Jun went to the market to buy some essential things.

Nana and Grandma were sitting on their chairs, talking.

"You know what Seung Ja…" Nana said. "Jun is like a son, I never had!"

Grandma smiled on that. "Yes you are right. He is everything I have left now. My grandson, my son….Sometimes he even acts like my father, getting all mad at me and telling me to take care of myself…"

Both of them laughed on that.

"I just…" Grandma said, "I just hope he'll be fine when I won't be around anymore…"

"What are you saying? Stop it. Nothing is happening to you." Nana said with a scolding tone.

"I know….But it will happen, sooner or later."

"Stop worrying about it and stop worrying about him."

"…."

"….He won't be alone. Everyone else will be there. Mia will be there." Nana said. "The whole world is on one side and our Mia is on the other. I believe, she would never leave him alone."

" ….I know…" Grandma said.

"Of course she would never do that!" Nana said confidently.

When Jun came back, Grandma and he headed back to their house.

After taking a bath he directly entered the kitchen and found Grandma arranging the things he brought, into shelves and refrigerator.

"What are you doing Grandma? I told you I'll do it." He hurriedly went towards her and took whatever she was holding in her hands.

"I was just—"

"No! You go and take a nice long bath with hot water. You will feel a lot better. I will take care of everything here." He said.

"Okay okay….Fine…I'm going…" Grandma said and went towards the kitchen door.

Turning back, she looked at her grandson, 'I know you are trying your best….Trying your best to keep your mind busy…I hope it will help you forget some things…At least for a while…' She thought letting out a sigh and turned back again to go.
