Chapter 1Into A New World

Bone-shattering pain!!

It was excruciating.

Levy was sure that she had died in the explosion. But she could still feel the pain in her body which was making it difficult for her to move.

Levy slowly opened her eyes.

However, she was flabbergasted when she realised that she could no longer recognize her surroundings.

There were very simple furnishings—which consisted of a bed, a table, there was an ordinary style vase and it had Yellow wildflowers that were in full bloom.

It seemed that they were picked from the overgrown bush in one of the cervices of the corner.

It lightened up the atmosphere of the slightly dark room.

While examining her surroundings, she felt a sharp pain in her head and she saw the memories of an unknown girl fly pass her eyes. It was akin to watching an old film on a reel.

The images were hazy, at best.

She became cognizant of the fact that they were the images of memories of a girl named Gu Hua and her past.

Gu Hua was the heaven celestial admired general Gu's daughter from the first wife.

She also has a baby brother who was three years old, Gu Ming.

Gu Hua's mother died due to an illness and father Gu Jiang didn't care for either of the siblings.

Slowly everyone began to disregard their existence and finally, the duo was thrown into a broken down courtyard to pass their measly existence.

None of the servants took care of their courtyard and hence the courtyard took on a dilapidated appearance.

Their courtyard became the focal point of sister Gu Pan who would more often than not come there to vent her frustrations.

Both the siblings would be subject to her cruel beatings, causing wounds all over their bodies.

Finally, Gu Hua died while saving her brother from yet another beating.

Once she had seen all the bitter memories of Gu Hua, Levy opened her eyes and they were as cold as a frozen lake.

She was an orphan in her previous life.

She had never known the warmth of family love.

In her previous life, all she had was her two best friends with whom she has faced everything—good and bad.

Just the mere thought of them made her feel a fierce heartache.

Father?

Humph!

That man does not deserve to be called a father.

"Ming, don't worry. Big sis will always protect you and I will not let anyone harm you.''

Those were the last words of this body's previous owner.

As Levy recalled the fierce and all-encompassing love Gu Hua had for her brother, she felt a warmth inside her heart.

Since I've occupied this body, I am Gu Hua and you are my brother. I will take good care of you.

While she was lost in her train of thought, she felt the weight of the little boy lain beside her shift.

"Ming, your sister will protect you."

The little boy tightened his arms around her as if he heard her voice.

Gu Hua chuckled and carefully observed her surroundings.

No one was present in the room except the siblings.

As she served in the military in her past life, she was sensitive to the sounds around her and she could determine the position of the enemies based on sound alone.

After determining that no one was present, she tried to move with her brother in her arm.

A sharp hiss left her mouth.

She felt a sharp pain in her body when she tried to move, but she didn't give up and finally got off the bed and placed her brother on it.

The Farm Girl's Charismatic Fortune

By Xishui River, there lived a family with the surname Ruo, whose luck was so disastrously poor that it was as if misfortune was possessed by their very souls. When other families had bountiful harvests, the Ruo Family harvested not a single grain. Their planted vegetables were devoured by insects, their chickens got chicken plague, their pigs got swine fever… Despite the household being full of strong men, they were either mad, crippled, or blind… What would have been a family of great prospects became the poorest within ten miles. The only thing that others envied about the Ruo Family was its thriving male members! The old lady of the Ruo Family had given birth to six sons, who then gave her four grandsons. She dreamt day and night of having a granddaughter. When she finally got a grandchild, to her dismay, the child was mentally disabled: at over three years old, she still couldn’t speak or walk, couldn’t even eat or relieve herself without help. Everyone thought the Ruo Family would never turn their fortunes around in this lifetime! That was until the half-old three-year-old mentally disabled child suddenly called out, “Mom…” The heavens began to change. The world began to turn mysterious. In the Ruo Family’s courtyard, the persimmons ripened overnight. The vegetables in the fields, nearly nibbled bare by insects, turned lush and green. The old hen that had never laid eggs suddenly started laying… While others faced famine, the Ruo Family’s granary was full. The eldest son was no longer mad, the second son was no longer crippled, the third son was no longer blind… The old lady of the Ruo Family, with her hands on her hips, laughed heartily to the sky, “Who says my Xuanbao is a dimwit? She’s clearly a treasure of blessings!” (This is a farming novel with a hint of fairy charm, where the female protagonist in a previous life was a just-awakened daylily that has reincarnated as a human.)

However, because of a sudden illness, her husband died within a month, and Charlotte's life came to a sudden halt. ‘She became the curse for her husband that he died young.’ ‘She is the one, who killed her husband.’ ‘She should have died with her husband.’ Numerous such things Charlotte would hear from the people around her in the palace when she decided to take her life. However, was it that easy to die? Édouard Bourdillon was the eldest son of King Christian Bourdillon of the Kingdom of Escana. He decided to marry the widow of his late younger brother so that he could take over the Beromont territory which his brother possessed. But was this the only reason he wanted to marry Charlotte? ~~~~~~~~ "What are you doing?" Terrified Charlotte asked as she saw Édouard unbuttoning his shirt. "I am hot, so I am taking off the shirt," Édouard said and reached for the last button. "But it's cold weather," Charlotte said and knitted her brows. "Not here, Charlotte. Your mere presence around me makes me hot," Édouard said and took off the shirt. "Ahhh!" Charlotte quickly brought her hands in front of her eyes and covered them. From the gaps between her fingers, she peeked out of curiosity. A lump formed in her throat as she saw his perfectly carved body with a few scars on the chest and near the abdomen. Charlotte saw him approaching her and she tightly shut her eyes. A few seconds later, when she realized everything was so quiet, she opened her eyes again and found him before her. She promptly moved back and hit the wall behind her. She thought to leave the room when Édouard caged her petite body between his arms. "Are you going to—" "Yes. I want to be wild with you tonight, Little Cherry," Édouard said with a smirk, and the next second, he lifted her in his arms. ~~~~~ *Cover art is mine.
