Thunderbird's Descent

Dashing towards the Youth, Marcus forced his muscles to exert more strength with the lightning energy. With the enemy so much stronger then him the usual way he fights is useless, he needs to fight him head on!

In a flash, he was in front of the Youth stabbing with Jörmungandr.

Cling.

The Youth caught the blade with a smile on his face.

"Why struggle? If you accept…"

Before he could finish, the blade expanded and pierced through his chest. Losing the grip on the blade, he saw it disappear into thin air. And as the next attack was coming, he had to be serious! Dodging the attacks, he observed his enemy get stronger with every second that they fought.

Marcus was attacking nonstop, but none of his attacks could connect with the Youth, But as he absorbed more energy from the Void Dimension he got faster, the distance was becoming smaller, and soon he will be able to hit his enemy.

The Youth wasn't expecting to meet someone that can fight him the moment he enters this world, but this wasn't a problem, soon the army will cross over, and this whole thing will be over. But before that, he will kill this human!

Thump!

With a move of his hand the Youth sent Marcus flying, Marcus pushed his body to the limit, and with difficulty, he was able to land on his feet. And with a small push, he again dashed towards the Youth.

The energy was wrecking chaos in Marcus's body, there was so much of it that his skin was cracking, and in those cracks lighting energy was flowing, looking as if glowing patterns formed on the surface of his skin.

With bloodshot eyes he attacked again, getting faster and more powerful, lightning constantly shooting in every direction, limiting the movement of the Youth.

Not expecting to get pressured so much the Youth started getting worried. If this goes on, he may lose.

But he was really curious about how he was able to summon so much strength, and what was the price he had to pay to get it. Looking at the Human, he saw his body slowly fall apart in front of his eyes.

Taking out a sword of his own, he blocked an incoming attack. He shouldn't play anymore if this human becomes any stronger it may be dangerous. At this point, he could fight him almost on equal grounds.

With the youth making a move the fight reached its peak.

Marcus wasn't doing well, his body covered in blood, he struggled to defend and attack. Every time the youth made a move a deadly attack was launched, and he had to defend with everything he had.

No matter what he tried, the youth had an answer to it. In a matter of dozens of seconds, he used all of his strategies! And only thanks to his eyes he was able to survive up to this point, after each attack the counter coming his way was deadly, and if he couldn't see them, one would be more then enough to kill him.

There was one option for him now, he will do what he did earlier, but this time, on a much bigger scale. He only needs to create a good opportunity for him to do it.

Leaving an opportunity for the Youth to attack he took a punch to the stomach and using the momentum from it he jumped as high as he could.

He moved all if his energy and made it leave his body. Using the Heavenly Lightning that was still in his body, he created a thin layer of energy. As he put more and more energy out of his body, he tried his best to delay its explosion.

Looking from below the Youth was shocked. He was in trouble, not because of the incoming attack, he can escape from the radius of the explosion, but because he was supposed to guard the gate! An explosion of this size will create huge fluctuations that can destabilize the gate causing it to explode!

He needs to stop him! Gathering his strength, he flew as fast as possible towards the human. His body changed and started to grow scales, and with black wings on his back, his speed multiplied.

But it was too late, what looked like a bird the size of a small hose was descending upon him. Feeling the energy inside of it he knew that if he tries to stop it, not only will he fail but also die.

With a flap of his wings, he dashed towards the gate and went through it before it was too late.

Marcus's body was empty of all the energy, exiting the Thunderbird he created he started falling to the ground. Looking at the Thunderbird slowly descending and the Youth escaping he knew that there is still a small chance for him to survive.

Hitting the ground, there was maybe less than twenty second until the Thunderbird bird will explode, forcing his body to move with just his willpower, he ran towards Xiao Mei.

Fifteen seconds.

He grabbed her and continued to run looking around he found a small cave-in.

Ten seconds.

Putting Xiao Mei down he looked towards the nearby boulder and pushed it.

Five seconds.

Covering the entrance with the boulder, he used his body to protect Xiao Mei.

Boom!!!

Feeling the earth shaking, and energy entering through the gaps his back was blasted with rocks and energy.

Creak! Boom!!!

A harsh cry sounded out, followed by a second explosion. And as the baker wave passed by them, Marcus saw his surroundings change.

The cave opened, and a vortex made from multicolored light shows in front of Marcus. They were being sucked in by the vortex.

Awk.

Marcus tried to breathe in but found that there is no air.

Slowly, Marcus lost consciousness.

---

Long Jiao exited the gate and flew as fast as possible, and soon an explosion sounded out behind him. The shock wave knocked him down from the sky, and he crashed into the ground.

After getting back up, he looked at what used to be a massive gate with an army camp around it. Only a huge hole was left, the explosion of the gate caused a space vortex that sucked in all of the surrounding matter!

He was in trouble! If the King finds out what happened here, there will be nothing in this world that can save him!

He was supposed to guard the exit of the gate but not only did he fail, because of him an army that was a part of the invasion was destroyed!

Now Long Jiao can only run! Hide and don't come out until he can resist the Demon King!

End of Volume One.
