unexpected discovery
A magical notification appeared:
"My dear son, it seems you are not old enough to read my diary, whatever it is. Never reveal my diary to anyone; it will be invisible to invincible golden eyes. Don't worry; here are my small gifts."
The message disappeared, revealing a golden ring with a red gem embedded inside and full of small, barely visible, intricate carvings. Arian looked around, finding no one. He quickly hid the hidden cabinet, taking the ring out.
Examining it, he realized that wearing it was like his world ID recognizer. A magical light flashed, and then an interface came up. It was an inventory ring, but for Arian, it was nothing short of genius!
"This is a storage ring," he thought, and then he stored a thick, dark book with some arrays and a big blue crystal commonly known as a mana crystal or stone. The ring even had a labeling feature.
"It is rare to find this, and I get to keep one. Only people who are hunters or explorers can afford one. It has tons of things in here, but it always makes me wonder how they stabilized these things. If people in my world saw this, they would be baffled and excited to get hands-on."
Arian was excited that he was able to have a proper, luxurious life for the first time. It was like going from eating bland dishes to the tastiest ones. However, he realized he was getting excited about mundane things, such as owning a village and a storage ring, which were nothing compared to what some people owned – planets, the ability to destroy them, and artifacts he could have never imagined.
"Okay, let's see what we have here. Wow, beautiful swords. Why are all of them grayed out? Okay, only these earrings, a pendant, these rings, some laboratory equipment, and these training swords. Oh, is it because of my age that it is locked?"
He considered whether some magical swords would try to control the user if he or she didn't have enough power. Or perhaps, normal magic swords were dangerous for a child. Arian was wrong; it was simply because he couldn't use those weapons due to rules set by family members.
"Still, I got some healing potion. Where is that, Butler? He is more of a watcher. I am sure at this point he is someone powerful, but why me? I can't trust that guy or anyone here; even relatives are ready to kill me for competition."
Just as Arian was wondering, Butler was reporting to Arian's half-god granddad, Arilius, also known as the Blood Monarch.
"Your Majesty, this year Kilian and Terisa, at the age of 10, were able to master three spells. It is interesting to note that we have five more children with the potential to carry your legacy. But Terisa and Kilian have taken powerful systems."
"Our suspicion was right. Adrian (Arian) might be an old god or an old half-god; his diary uses old language that is unknown; he has combat techniques that are beyond impressive and he uses them subconsciously; he tries his best to appear clumsy, and he even purposefully does not select system artifacts in ceremonies. What shall I do, master?"
"Hmm, if he is an old, strong half-god or even a true god, it will be advantageous to try to make him admit it. He seems to be too cautious about being watched by the gods."
"Your Majesty, take this; it will avoid God's gaze. If that doesn't work, I shall make my system in my new domain and give it to him. Then I can see who he is. If he is rumored to be a god, then this would truly benefit us."
"Majesty, I think the shadow god and time gods would have teamed up, although it is said that the shadow god was infested by demons and betrayed by other true gods. Even then, there is a chance he might have escaped; he was one of the strongest."
"Because I can feel the shadowy connection, Your Majesty."
"Okay, let's move on to politics."
This was a pure misunderstanding due to a series of small discoveries by the butler. At first, he found that not only was Arian's body weird, but even his soul was out of the norm.
Meanwhile, Arian continued to read and find...
"So this story is like this: an Asura prayed to the true god of destruction, who blessed him with the ability to kill anyone. Later, the god of balance ticked and killed, and everything started after that. To seek revenge, this brother harvested the lingering power within his dead brother and made an artifact that led Asuras to develop quickly and ascend in dimension without actually ascending."
"Oh, it's like making a part of your ascent. That's why they have an extra pair of hands and are immune to magical traps, locks, and illusions. They were then corrupted by demons that gained immense power and wanted to take Naga's artifact called Naga Mani, which had the power to create anything once for every purple moon gifted by the true god."
"So there are rumors there that Naga Mani isn't lost but weakened, but Naga's King still holds it inside him every blue moon and the rest of the time it is kept hidden. So these Nagas are like ant colonies; they have a queen who has been the same for centuries, and everyone related to her obeys her orders. They are no longer like royalty without any inside war."
"So what happens if the queen dies, though? This world sure is amazingly mysterious, haha."
"So safe zones are not required to be interlinked with other safe zones, but to reinforce protection, they do this interesting."
"I need more information on this tower of trails, but there are none out there monopolized by powerful people. How can I get more information?"
"Shit, time's up. It's almost 4. No, it's past 4. Gotta go."
After combat training, Butler remarked, "Young master, I must say your combat talent is amazing. You have reflexes and a subconscious-level technique used. What are you, young master? Are you really a child?" he said, his eyes glowing golden. He bound the young Arian with golden chains.
"Shit!!!"
