iirc what wouldn't influence the 41st turn SYS was befriending the 3rd turn, as in, even if 3rd turn might one day grow up to be the 41st, befriending the 3rd won't make the 41st remember you because they are two different people. However, even though they're different, they're also the same. There can only be the 41st (future) if there is the 3rd (past), so killing 3rd would kill 41st. But KDJ didn't want to do that bc young SYS had done nothing wrong and was very unfair to her.

Perhaps Kim Dokja had been living life looking for a decent excuse to end his...life, all the while supporting himself with stories that happened to be very long so as to delay thinking about his despair. And here, he is presented with a very good reason (not really) to kill himself in an almost heroic way...to validate his death, somehow.
