I have an hard time imagining fooling Acnologia who already lived 400 years and battled with different kinds of dragon during dragon era. Unless his Ego is too much for thinking that an ant can fool him though.

Just my Thought for this Idea is quite good one and question is: Did his replicas destroyed at the same time when he died or able to live on their own with shard of his soul? if latter one then combining this idea and second one as the replicas searches the main soul and way to revive him which is phoenix stone except for caster finding the way to unlock the Fairy Sphere if possible to interact with Mavis then upon revival all of his replicas is absorb into one body and creates his own noble phantasm by reforging every noble phantasm that he obtained. Just adding this thought to your idea.
