Don't get me wrong, I don't have any issue with him balkanizing France, just not with this sissy dumbass reason. Is it so hard to reason out that a fragmented neighbor is easier to control? Why add a stupid reason like "tHeY wAnTeD tO dIsMaNtEl A cOuNtRy ThAt My AnCeStOrS lIVeD UwU"
At the end of the day, Berengar said it himself. He was at fault for not guiding the colony well enough and leaving their governors to their own devices. But someone has to take responsibility for all the dead Germans and it surely won't be the Kaiser. Regardless of whether you think Arnulf is right or wrong to attack and subjugate fellow Germans for what he thinks is treason to his rule, it will not sit well with the German people on this setting. Imagine a colonial governor and a war hero killing fellow German at the request (or maybe you can even say influence or behest) of foreigners; 'savage' foreigners... This will set precedence amongst his order colonial governor that they can do whatever they want as long as they can justify that it is how they understood the Kaiser's orders. In Arnulf's case, he interpreted the Kaiser's order as being friendly with the natives and killing fellow Germans who do not follow his will. He would've gotten away with it if the reason is not because of the natives but because they legitimately rebelled; not against Arnulf but against the Kaiser. Arnulf should've consulted the Kaiser with this important, and moving forward, colonial governors would do the same else they suffer the same fate.
Would make sense so that he has free access from the German Empire all the way to India... but this still begs the question. If Berengar already had the initial idea of wiping out the crusaders and the papacy, why was he making a future plan wherein he needed the papacy or the crusader to hold onto the Levant for his son to conquer and make a name for himself?
On a completely different topic, whatever happened to the Byzantine plotline? I thought the idea is to have his son gloriously retake the Byzantine lands back from the crusaders so he could have a legend and have an easier time of claiming the Byzantine throne? With the Papacy and Crusaders gone, who is stopping the Byzantines from reclaiming the Levant?
I thought one of the main objectives is expansion? Sure Arnulf can "play tall" in a small part of NA, but Berengar wanted him to blob. In a way, if his colonies take over the whole Americas, then there would be no other future colonies of other powers (Empire of Japan) to land and claim. By promoting coexistence, he basically removed any future hope for expansion as he is probably surrounded by the tribes he sees as his people. At the same time, Berengar is not really interested in having a mix of cultures with a sizeable minority on his empire as his view of it (modern USA) was not pleasant. So the only way to blob and maintain a homogenous culture is to displace or eradicate. Which he did in South Africa.
Aight. Finished binging the whole work in three days. Its interesting enough to keep me here even though I am not a fan of Naruto and basically know little to nothing about the series other than just some tidbits. What I do know is that Naruto simps on Sakura a lot and leaves out Hinata for a good part of the story so I was hoping at some point that in this version, even if Naruto is no longer simping on Sakura, Rei would still take Hinata in. But after binging this, I don't think that will ever happen.
Power fantasy. Don't bother with it. The author probably wrote this story with that in mind. He is the strongest and everybody is just a s3x doll or a fodder. Imagine playing a game and you are given all the P2W items for max level while being at level 1. There are literally no stakes as no one can threaten him. I have read up to chapter 56 (rip my brain cells) and the people change so fast and act like the doomsday has been going on for YEARS when in-fact, the doomsday has only been going on for DAYS.
Author dissing his unoriginal naming sense.
The fact that their basic needs are met also factors in. If they were in dire need of food, they won't have time to look for low-energy no-biomass luxury items. I think this progression is inevitable. Enid just sped up the timeline.
It's been over a day... Why isn't this mistake fixed yet?
