just quick math here so could be wrong but it's probably just to offset the high returning interest. it's also just free money just on the return interest alone. if, for example, someone has 10 million already and took a 10 million loan, without touching it, he's earning 2 million a year and his loan interest only equals out to 1.1 million thus overall earning more than losing
