Love this part ### *Samurai Dino Rangers: Chapter 2 - Red’s Fire Trial* *3 Days Later | Training Dojo, Mt. Sazanami* The dojo smelled like old wood, sweat, and ozone. Kai “Blue” Nakamura was already drenched. He’d been holding a water stance for 40 minutes, the Plesiosaur Morpher humming against his wrist. Every time his arms dropped, Master Ji’s bamboo stick tapped his shoulders. “Water doesn’t quit,” Ji said. “So you don’t either.” Across the dojo, Takumi “Red” Sato was smashing a boulder with his fists. No gloves. No Morpher. Just rage. Red was 21. Former karate champion. He’d been the leader before Kai got the Blue power. Now he was stuck as “senior student” while the new guy saved the world. He punched the rock again. Crack. Blood on his knuckles. “You’re gonna break your hand before you get a Morpher,” Kai said quietly, breaking stance. Takumi didn’t turn. “I don’t need a trinket to be strong.” “You say that every day,” Green Ranger Aiko muttered from the corner, sharpening her twin kamas. “Maybe if you said it less, Ji would give you the Morpher.” Ji didn’t answer. He just watched the fire pit in the center of the dojo. The flames burned blue-green tonight. That only happened when the Sanzu Gate was restless. “Stop,” Ji said finally. Everyone froze. “The gate will open again in 48 hours,” Ji said. “At the Fire Caves of Ryujin. If we don’t have a Red Ranger by then, the team dies. Simple.” Takumi threw his hands up. “Then give me the Red Dino Morpher! I’ve trained 3 years! Kai trained 8 months and he gets to be a hero?” Ji walked to a sealed stone box in the wall. Inside, on red velvet, sat the Red Dino Morpher. Forged from T-Rex bone and magma glass. The crystal inside pulsed like a heartbeat. “It doesn’t choose years trained,” Ji said. “It chooses who can carry fire without burning the world.” Takumi stepped forward, hand out. “I can. Watch me.” Ji shook his head. “The Morpher chooses. Not me.” He placed the Morpher on a stone pedestal. It sat there. Dead. No light. Takumi’s jaw clenched. “Because you don’t believe in me.” “No,” Ji said. “Because you don’t believe in yourself. You think power means never losing. Fire doesn’t work like that. Fire means burning, failing, and still choosing to light the way for others.” Takumi stormed out. The door slammed. Kai looked at Ji. “What happens if he doesn’t bond?” “Then I fight alone,” Ji said. “And we all die.” *[Flashback - 5 years ago]* Takumi was 16. His dojo burned down because he froze during a fire. He had the skills to save 3 younger students. Instead he ran for the exit first. They didn’t make it out. He’d been chasing “strength” ever since. To prove he wasn’t a coward. *[Back to present | Night, Fire Caves of Ryujin]* Kai found Takumi at the cave entrance. Lava glowed behind him, reflecting in his angry eyes. “You followed me,” Takumi said. “Ji said if you don’t show up, we lose,” Kai said. “I’m not letting Earth die because of pride.” Takumi laughed bitterly. “Easy for you to say, Mr. Chosen One. The Morpher just gave you power. Nobody had to burn for it.” Kai stepped closer. Heat shimmered between them. “You think I didn’t burn? I almost drowned. I still dream about my sister’s face. Power didn’t fix that. It just gave me a reason to carry it.” Takumi turned away. “I don’t want your pity.” “I’m not pitying you,” Kai said. “I’m asking you to stand with me. Not in front. Not behind. Beside.” The ground shook. The Sanzu Gate inside the cave cracked open. Black smoke poured out. Nighlok screams echoed. And from the lava, something rose. A beast made of molten rock and bone. The Nighlok general: Magmord. Bigger than Maggitor. “Too late,” Magmord laughed. “Your fire has no wielder.” Kai pulled out his Blue Morpher. “Then I’ll hold him off until—” “You’ll die,” Magmord in
