agreed, just finished it too and the pacing was kinda weird in my opinion? like for most of the story, nothing really happened, and it's only towards the end that stuff started getting serious. I really like the idea of the story, it just could've been executed better.

that's why I stopped reading it at chapter 80 or so on another app. I'm surprised none of the other reviews called it out, but it's also very heavily written by AI, which is probably the reason for many of the inconsistencies. Not even just edited but fully written by AI. I was looking forward to the actual revenge plot. And didn't Lan Yue have some poison inside her?? What happened to that?? So many plots just forgotten.

so I read this on a different app and I'm still not done, but I'll never understand the amount of positive reviews the story has. It just keeps getting worse as it goes on. The writing is so repetitive and the characters keep getting shallower. Where I'm currently at, we get Andrew and Logan's povs a lot, more than Emma's, and it all revolves around her. I get that she's the main character but it's like the other characters don't have a life or personality or any thoughts unless they revolve around her. she became more unlikable imo. It's so predictable that the threats never feel serious either. Speaking of her brother and Logan, she shouldn't have forgiven them so easily after all they did in the first place. I mean it would've been way more compelling if after all what happened in the beginning, she finds the rogue king isn't as terrible as they all say and goes with him and gets revenge. I was expecting that to happen for a while, till we find out he's actually evil and all. just not to my taste at all.

ngl I'm actually glad you went back to iliana alseid, it was the original name in the first volume if I remember right, and I prefer it. It sounds better imo. I think the story's getting very interesting, and the writing has improved so much! Especially the dialogue. I also noticed there's much less errors with character genders which I hope continues, I hated it before. Overall, I'm so invested, I can't wait to read more! You're doing great!
