I've only read the first chapter, so this is more a preface than a full fledged review of the entire book. But so far the novel seems to do well in keeping you shrouded in mystery yet giving you questions you want answers to by reading more. Yes there's a glossary to refer to, but without it the mystery draws you in. Who is this guy looking over the rubble, why is the place so destroyed, who is this woman talking with him, what are these powers? You're given enough information in natural ways to understand the basic idea, while specifics aren't given out freely, keeping you intrigued and wanting to learn more. The writing is amazing, using many literacy devices like Smiles and Metaphors to describe the surroundings, characters, and actions they take. It brings a little more light within the mysterious setting to keep you from getting overwhelmed.

The book has a very unique start that hooks you in and makes you interested to read more. The descriptions for the world and how people go about their lives in the area adds to the immersion, the world building being great. Some concepts are a little confusing, such as the betrayal coming out of nowhere, and the MC being nobility. But this is more nitpicky on my end and may be rectified and explained in later chapters once they're released in the novel. Also, it feels like some other aspects are overexplained, while leaving some things to not have much of anything in regards to explanations. Characters are described well, so I can envision how they look while reading, alongside being able to imagine other aspects like how they sound and such. Overall, there's a lot of potential behind the story and I plan to keep tabs on it because I am intrigued. I just wish some things were explained/foreshadowed better, while others may have a bit less explanation. A good balance I think is the best way to describe this.

So far from what I've read the beginning has done well to build intrigue by making the viewer ask questions that should hopefully be answered later. It keeps retention with each new question raised by the series. As for the narration being from the main character presumably after whatever major plot points are covered in the book. It builds intrigue because, even if it's just a first person narration that doesn't mean anything, the belief that it could mean something; IE that they rose above all of their issues, that there's someone they're telling the story to, etc. All of this makes you more intrigued as to how the character made it to that situation in the first place. I like what I've seen so far, and I'm excited to continue reading once I have the chance.

This is already helping build intrigue. Being thrown right into something important without any idea of what's going on makes me want to learn more about this.

Really interesting concept, a unique way to go about the reincarnation angle. A seemingly immature person being reincarnated like this is sure to make for some good story beats.
