The answer to the first and second point is that they knew already too much, and they did care about their kids, but the story is written in first person from Allaran’s POV, but when closing the first volume I do go into third person and all the things regarding mainly Damian and Mira’s father uncover. The biggest reveal of the whole volume is something revolving that exact subject. About the training of his main weapon I decided not to follow that path at the moment because if I followed that path I wouldn’t be able to introduce the magic system. Also the ideas I have for his ability would make him way too overpowered. I want him to grow only when his weapon finally stops being able to instantly kill, sharpening a blade that already cuts everything like butter felt overkill. About the barrier Allaran always thought that the power of the cube wasn’t unlimited, and when we introduce voidstone and the ‘energy system’ it makes sense. A cube that produces a barrier that strong without an energy source or limitation would’ve been way too OP. Thats why he settled with a helmet filled with dark water. I hope that clears some doubts! Thank you for the feedback! The second arc definitely focuses a lot more on training, but every single one of your questions and more get answered as the arc progresses. And if you don’t like training arcs don’t worry, because shortly they’ll get back to the wasteland :)!
