I love the progression of Adam. He starts with a piece of trash pipe and barely survives, but by Chapter 25, he's driving a tank-car and wearing heavy industrial armor. It feels earned because we saw him struggle and bleed for every upgrade. He isn't just overpowered for no reason; he uses his brain (and high IQ stats) to outsmart enemies.
