To answer your question, I based Gilles' driving style on many footages I have watched that captured him racing but I also tried to adjust it a bit so it would fit better in the story and it would make the race scenes more tense. So I wouldn't propably base a race strategy on it if I were you. I hope that this reply is clear and understandable enough.
