This book is terrible. I held on for about 30 chapters hoping it would get better because the premise was interesting. But you throw the most predictable plot points together with zero character depth and you get this book. The most frustrating part is that it actually has potential. The background makes no sense for example. Abilities come from skill books unless you are born with them. But the rich monopolize them. We get no logical explanation for it though. Just “rich people evil”. …. The setting is the aftermath of an intergalactic war. That makes NO sense. If the author wanted to do that they needed to adjust the timeline, give a reason for it? They sort of tried with the military academy I think. And don’t even get me started on the characters that had as much personality as white bread. “Boring loser nerd becomes strong and everyone hates him and is evil because we need to make him look better… tragic backstory blah blah blah.” Like, we know nothing about him other than his parents died and he has a vampire system. If someone took the same outline and rewrote this book it would have a lot more potential. This feels like it was written by a teenager.
