Alright, I think I have gotten the gist of the problem here. Up till now, I've written about 20 or so chapters. Obviously, I don't think there are any narrative issues, no matter if it's future drafts or just the current bit. I've noticed quite a few people saying the story is rather slow to start, and I don't disagree. It does take a good bit before the story gets into its main plot points. But what I believe is that chapter 10 should be the turning point where the stakes become slightly higher, and the development starts building quickly. On a second note, I might further address the issue by making longer chapters so we can get past the 'boring' stuff faster, if that makes sense in some regard. I'll answer any question related to the novel here in the comments as well if there are any that don't relate to spoilers.
