No, I wasn't trying to say that he could read. On the contrary, I agree with you that he shouldn't be able to read. I realized that this may be a plot hole when I first wrote it, and in the next chapter, I attempted to justify it. However, after looking back over this for more than an hour, I realized that my original explanation is still kinda bad. I had originally justified this by saying that, since he can speak the language fluently and had studied kanji despite being blind with a lot of effort, he was able to identify some kanji and piece together what The System might be saying from context. And then with repeated exposure to The System, he would eventually recognize the kanji that it commonly uses. Plus, he isn't stupid, so as someone who'd been speaking the same language for more than twenty years, he'd learn the kanji pretty quickly. But as I read over that and thought through my explanation, it sounded more and more unrealistic, and even somewhat contradicted what I ended up saying later, so I realized if even I can't get behind my own justification, then it was probably wrong. Thanks for pointing this out. I try to avoid any possible confusion when it comes to my plot, and I try to remain consistent, but this was still when I was figuring out the direction for this novel, so I must not have realized quite how unrealistic it was. Once I figure out how to fix this issue and have it more in line with the later chapters, I'll make the appropriate changes in the chapter.
Who knows…
Great question, but to be honest, I'm not too sure myself... I have a general idea of where Ryo and Ren would go, but I haven't drawn up the exact details yet. However, even if I did, I probably wouldn't spoil that here, because then it wouldn't be too fun to read knowing where the characters would end up. Thanks for your interest in my story, and I hope you keep reading and following Ryo's journey along with me.
First character design has been added! More will be added as the story progresses.
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoy it, and I plan to keep writing for the foreseeable future. The novel is meant to be slow, but don't worry, I will be implementing timeskips soon, so stay tuned. As for the character designs, honestly, I suck at drawing, and it takes forever to get an AI image to turn out good, but I'll still try designing the characters whenever I have free time.
Of course! That's the plan.
When I typed this up, the formatting was a lot better and had spaces in between the sections so that it was a bit easier on the eyes, but apparently, it didn't show up correctly when published, so I apologize for that. I am pretty sure it's not a problem in the later chapters
Hey, author here. Forgive me for my shameless review. Please feel free to leave your comments and your opinions so that I can make my story better. Thanks for reading and I hope y’all enjoy it.
I really love what you're doing here, author. I was not exposed to the 8-bit or 16-bit era much as a kid, but this story is still very exciting, and I can't wait until the 2000s era with the Wii and other groundbreaking releases. Keep it up!!
