Your author here Writing a review for your own book feels like writing a dating profile for your evil twin, but here we are. Let me answer a few questions you may want to ask : “So... what is Veil of Truth about?” It’s about Raien, a boy born into shadows, in an empire that feeds on fear, legacy, and silence. In a world where power corrupts — and shadows whisper — he must survive, manipulate, and maybe… become something more than human. Also, there's an ancient prophecy, a living shadow, and a war that doesn’t care who’s the villain or the hero. “Wait, are we talking about a chosen one?” Kinda. But not the shiny, hopeful type. Raien doesn’t save the world — he breaks it, rebuilds it, or lets it burn, depending on who’s watching. He’s not here to fulfill destiny. He is the glitch in destiny. “Is he overpowered?” Not exactly. His powers are terrifying, yes — but they come with consequences. Every time he wins, he loses a little piece of something… himself, someone else, reality. Think tactical brutality, not plot armor. “How dark is this?” Let’s say this: there’s a scene where a character talks to their own shadow… and the shadow answers. Not with comfort, but with hunger. So yeah. Pretty dark. But there’s also loyalty, inner conflict, and moments of strangely beautiful connection. Like hugging a wolf. A psychic wolf. On fire. “Is there romance?” There is. A slow one. Not sugar-sweet, more like “I’ll fight beside you until the world ends, but I might also be spying on your soul” type of romance. Complex? Yes. Doomed? Possibly. Worth it? Always. “Is there a harem?” Nope. Raien may be surrounded by powerful and dangerous people, but this isn’t wish fulfillment. It’s survival. Heartbreak. Deep bonds. Mind games. (Although… things do get emotionally complicated.) “How often are chapters coming?” Consistent uploads. I'm building this world chapter by chapter, layer by layer — and we’re just getting started. More to come, and it only gets crazier. “And you rated your book 5 stars?” Of course. I mean, I wrote it, cried over it, traumatized some characters, made shadow magic cool again, and even threw in a war or two. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever created. If you don’t believe me, read a few chapters. If you like dark fantasy with lore, power systems, secret histories, broken kings, sentient shadows, and main characters who stare too long into the void… Then welcome to Veil of Truth. Don’t trust your reflection. And don’t blink when the shadow moves. 🌑
