I get why it looks that way, especially since those first few chapters lost a bit of the original tone I intended. At that point, he was still struggling to adapt to his abilities. His mind was essentially resisting the world—he was in a headspace where he didn't really want to live, but didn't want to end it either. He knew he had power, but he chose not to test it or show himself because it felt 'easier' to stay hidden. What's coming back to bite him now is that lack of action and effort. He's slowly starting to realize that his detachment from life and his refusal to engage actually have massive, painful consequences.

You could say that, but keep in mind what the divinities mentioned: they adapted everything to fit the limits of this world. You might see some familiar concepts, but it’s a whole new lore with its own rules based on this universe's possibilities. There’s still a lot more to uncover.
