oh dear
But his words were lost, swallowed by another kiss, softer this time, coaxing rather than demanding. Alexander's tongue swept across Kelvin's lower lip, and Kelvin's resistance crumbled like a sandcastle before a rising tide. He melted into the embrace, his hands finding their way to Alexander's shoulders, fingers curling into the fabric of his shirt.

oh my
The kiss was immediate and passionate, deep and demanding. Alexander's hand was at the nape of Kelvin's neck, tilting his head back, while his lips moved against Kelvin's with a hunger that bordered on desperation. His other hand snaked around Kelvin's waist, pulling him flush against his chest, and Kelvin felt the familiar heat building in his core—that treacherous, traitorous warmth that always seemed to ignite whenever Alexander was this close.

what
He was dressed in his usual impeccable suit, though he had loosened his tie and unbuttoned the top two buttons of his crisp white shirt. In his hand, he held a glossy shopping bag emblazoned with the name of an exclusive lingerie boutique that Kelvin had only seen in the windows of high-end department stores.

I smell trouble
That Thursday had started off so normally. Kelvin had the day off, and he was curled up in the movie room in his favorite pair of grey sweatpants and an oversized hoodie, a bowl of popcorn in his lap, utterly lost in a classic noir film. He hadn't bothered with a wig, hadn't touched a stitch of feminine clothing. For a blissful eight hours, he was just Kelvin.

hmmm
It had started subtly—a lingering gaze when Kelvin descended the stairs in a new dress, a whispered compliment about how beautiful "Kelly" looked, a possessive hand on the small of Kelvin's back when they went to galas together. Kelvin had dismissed these as part of the act, a performance Alexander put on to sell the engagement to his grandfather and the world.

lol
Though Kelvin hated dressing as a woman, Alexander seemed to enjoy it a little too much.

"You're a good boy, Kelvin," she had said softly. "And I've never believed in the Morrowgate men. But Alexander... he's different with you. I see it in his eyes." She had paused, her gaze gentle. "And I see the way you look at him, too, even when you're pretending not to."

transform
The days were a blur of feminine performance, of being Kelly Austin with her delicate smiles and graceful gestures. But the moment Kelvin Shepherd crossed the threshold of Alexander's mansion, the wig came off, the dress was discarded, and Kelvin could breathe again.

you have no choice
Kelvin still had to dress like a woman in public.

huh
When Alexander held his hand in the car during the drive home, their fingers intertwined in the dim light, Kelvin didn't pull away. He told himself it was easier to let Alexander have these small victories than to fight every single battle. And if his heart fluttered at the warmth of Alexander's palm against his own, well, that was just biology. Nothing more.
