TFTC 👌 'Even Antarctica won't save me. Just like Nephis, I need to choose a side. Valor is a complete no-go after what I did to their prince; they might not know, but I'm not risking it.’ ???? Aldric considering all the terrible things Clan Valor did to Mordret and that it was always their intention to kill the Prince Of Nothing. Why would they cause you trouble for killing the plague of their clan IF anything King Anvil would must likely want Aldric to become apart of his domain for that very reason. Sooo I don’t understand Aldric’s thought process here. He should definitely choose Night but Clan Valor is realistically still an option. After all if he chooses Song then trying to work with the Cohort in the future would be near impossible. Now there is about 10 to 11 months before Sunless arrives at Antratica, there is no reason for Aldric not to help Sunless discover what the 4th Step of Shadow Dance is and help him achieve it before the Chain of Nightmares. Or least set Sunless on the path to achieving the 4th Step sooner than he originally did, at least so he has a Transcendent Tyrant to help him fight off the Winter Beast. Aldric already knows exactly what the 4th Step of Shadow Dance is and he knows exactly how Sunless can achieve it, but if he doesn’t to asked questions on how he knows he can simply choose to gently guide Sunless into realizing the 4th Step on his own. Plus if Sunless has Serpent with he would reach the Tyrant Class much faster and could even reach the Terror Class before the Falcon Scott’s fall or before the 3rd Nightmare at least. Sure the chance of Sunless still leaving Serpent with Rain is still a high possibility if Aldric fails to convince Sunless not to do that. However, if that does happen it wouldn’t be too difficult to set a plan in order for Sunless or other Cohort members to communicate Rain and have her send Serpent back to Sunless before the fall of Falcon Scott. Another thing Aldric should probably do is help Sunless get more useless or decent Memories to feed Saint so she is already at the Transcendent Rank or close it to before the Chain of Nightmares. Aldric should also convince Sunless to let Nightmare run wild in the Dream Realm during the 9 months before Nephis’ return. (Minor Spoilers) Nightmare as shown when he became a Supreme Terror in the most recent volume, Nightmare walks faster up the path of ascension if he kills his victims with their Nightmares instead of just collecting their Nightmares.Since, Sunny cannot have Nightmare kill humans, he can have the stallion kill Nightmare Creatures in the Dream Realm which is just as effective. It’s also a great way for Sunless get hundreds of Shadow Fragments too, which only help Sunless reach the Titan Class much sooner than he did in canon. Finally there is no reason to manipulate Sunless into becoming Fateless, as Aldric already knows from the story that Sunless himself confirmed he still would have made the same decision even if he already knew the price of becoming Fateless. It’s a shame that Aldric hasn’t read up to the Throne of War volume, meaning he doesn’t even know what a Supreme Act of Defiance actually is. If Aldric actually wants more lives to be saved during the Chain of Nightmares, he should do his best to help Sunless make his Shadows more powerful because if he joins any of the Three Great Clans, Aldric won’t be able to take any action until the Chain of Nightmares has already be a problem for 7 months. The House of Night couldn’t give their full support due to Clan Valor and Clan Song’s interference. As there is only so much an Ascendant Titan can do against hordes of Nightmares and there is very little or nothing an Ascendant Titan can do against a Corrupted or Great Abomination.
An insidious Shapeshifter met a treacherous shadow, these two souls form an unlikely pair and braved the forgotten accused land together in hopes of finding allies. Soon the odd duo came across an equally unusual pair, a radiant Star, and a seemingly delicate Seer, ventured together with but a rope of trust between them. With a silver tongue, the treacherous Shadow eased the doubts of the two beauties, thus a strange Quartet of beans united in necessity. It was in this day that SSSS Cohort was formed (read it as quadruple S Cohort) This was pretty cringe ☠️
Bro this fanfic is FAR better than I originally thought would be and you CLEARLY put in a lot of effort and consideration into writing it, please don’t stop writing this fanfic I am enjoying it sooooo much. You could grant the Omnitrix the additional function where the it can summon Hugo’s transformations as actual living beings who can think and act for themselves, just like how Sunless’ Shadows work or similar to Mordret’s Mirror Beast and if very similar to the Chaquetrix AU by Liltaiga4 (sorry for that gooner knowledge) expect less lewd. Even in Ben 10: Classic and Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, it has been shown that the Omnitrix and both create and store living beings born from Ben’s transformations, so making this an actual usable function of the Watch wouldn’t be a ridiculous thing to do. Just an idea to make Hugo more versatile and powerful, after all no one survives the Dream Realm alone. Also please upload this on AO3, it will attract more attention for it. Keep up the great work and please consider my idea at least.
After 491 chapters worth of reading, I can confidently say that this story is just “MEH” at best. I guess it’s just not for me which a shame I was hoping from the Author’s Notes wouldn’t just end up being above average slop from the usual web Nobel slop.😞
Also, Nephis isn’t gonna fall in love with this guy because there is simply no need for it. I don’t understand why some fan writers want to ship their MCs with Nephis and put Sunless in the background dispute his MASSIVE importance in the story. Like this the guy that in the current SS arc has already 3 Cursed Nightmare Credits and has Weaver’s Lingage.
You know what sucks about being teleported into Shadow Slave ? It’s the fact that unlike series like One Piece or My Hero Academia there is no place that is safe or if it is safe then won’t remain so for long. The Waking World is extremely polluted and extremely limited on resources. There’s all the opening Nightmare Gates, being mundane leaves you too vulnerable thus you have no choice but to become Awakened if you want to survive and then thrive. The Dream Realm far more dangerous than the Waking World because it’s fill with Nightmares Creatures of all kinds. Making things worse there Abominations ranging from the Corrupted Rank to the Unholy Rank. Unless you’re an extremely powerful Saint or better yet a Sovereign then you aren’t surviving on your own and will need the help of others. Make things even harder, neither Anvil or Ki Song will allow you to become Saint unless you’re loyal to them. The Government offers no real protection and only exists because they allow it to. And if you do become a Saint belonging to either of their Domains, neither Sovereign will ever allow you to try obtaining Supremacy and trying to do so will mean treason which will result in death. Unless you’re perfectly fine with serving Tyrants who have no problem having innocents killed in the shadows or see sending killers to murder a child as necessary then you go right ahead I guess. And to make things MORE complicated, even if you choose to live as an Awakened serving a Legacy Clan like White Feather and choses to submit to the Sovereigns. In the next 12 years Waking World will be overrun by Nightmare Creatures emerging from Category 2 to Category 4 Gates. The Waking World itself is being absorbed into the Dream Realm meaning you will have to live in a world where Nightmare Creatures like Skinwalker or worse are free to move as they please.☠️ Worse of all there is also the eventual awakening of Forgotten God which will result in Corruption being set free from its seal, bringing the apocalypse to humanity. So if you want to even have a chance to survive any of this then you have to be at least Supreme or Sacred, and there is no guarantee that you will manage to conquer the 4th or 5th Nightmares. 😭 The world of Shadow Slave would SUCK to live in It’s the type of story that will force you to eventually befriend the main cast of characters in hopes of their plot armor saving you 🙏☠️.
Nah, just more terrible slop 😞
The real question here is, how can your friends like Sunless trust Aldric when he chooses to do nothing to help or prevent a bad events from happening to them ? Why is he judging Cassie, when what he did is probably worse. As he KNEW exactly what would and all he had to do was keep Sunless from killing Caster or at least warn him not to do so. Bro is acting Lily was TOO much work for him. He decisions to do nothing, he allows Sunless to lose he’s freedom which will eventually result in Sunless getting his Fate taken in the 3rd Nightmare, he allowed Nephis to remain in the Dream Realm to experience all the pain, aloneness and trauma on her own dispute all she did for him. Now he’s going to try and gaslight Cassie knowing damn well he’s the one who abandoned Sunless and Nephis to their fates without a second thought. Aldric has no right to lecture to anyone about being fair, dishonesty or disloyalty.
"Is there any other way for this to end? for me to drown that castle in blood and lead a death march to the Spire?" There’s no way to prevent the bloodshed that will happen in the Bright Castle, HOWEVER, it can be reduced by a great margin even. And Aldric knows how thanks to his knowledge of the future. The answer is Sunless more especially Sunless’ shadow named Saint who at this point is a powerful Awakened Demon. Due to Saint’s immunity to physical attacks and combat ability she can EASILY slaughter more than a hundred of Gunluag’s soldiers or even kill of all Gunluag’s Generals by herself. Aldric has to prevent Saint from eating that strange sphere of Darkness she got after the Cohort killed the Dark Knight in the Cathedral. Saint eating that thing made her enter a dormant state as she was evolving to the Devil Class which took weeks to complete. Aldric take prevent this by taking the Sphere of Darkness and then giving it to Saint at a later date, or have Sunless order Saint to not eat it and give to him to hold on to. Aldric and the cohort can then come up with a plan involving Saint to force the rest of The Host into submission after Gunluag’s death. Plan A, They can take the brutal path where Sunless orders Saint to kill Tessai and all his Hunters since they all died in future anyways. Aldric or Sunless can secretly met up with Seishan Song and tell her what role she has in the plan, where once Sunless orders Saint to act then her and the rest of the handmaidens can attack from behind. Then Nephis’ followers and the cohort will attack from the front. Or Plan B, The plan can be that once Gunlaug is dead, Sunless orders Saint to kill all the generals minus Seishan Song, the handmaiden turn against the Host but don’t attack and all those people once under the now dead generals will see that their leaderless, up against an Awakened Demon, the Handmaidens, Seishan, the Dark Hunter, Changing Star and Nephis’ followers. This will a very effective intimidation tactic. They will all see that it is a losing battle and will submit. Both plans will result in FAR less people dying than in canon. Next,Aldric can convince Nephis to put her plans to conquer the Spire on hold. There are in no rush to leave, so they can at least spend 160 days training the Dream Army to be stronger and more efficient. Nephis, Caster, Aldric, Sunless, Saint, Effie and the other Hunters can go hunt down Nightmare Creatures for Soul Shards to give to the Sleepers and to gather materials to forge things like crude armor and weapons. If they do things right the Dream Army will be larger, better armed and stronger. Meaning that this time more than a hundred Sleepers should be able to make it back to the Waking World. Aldric should warn them what will happen once Sunless seals away the Dark Sea. Finally, Aldric can handle Caster by say cutting of his legs but keeping him alive long enough to for himself, Sunless and Nephis to make it through the Gateway leaving Caster for dead. Or they can have Saint knock Caster unconscious which will result in the same outcome. Afterwards, once back in the Academy, Aldric can talk to Sunless about Shadow Bond and weigh out the dangers of Sunless having or not having a Master. But knowing Sunless he will never willingly agree to such a thing unless put in a position where he enforced to do so. So you see Aldric CAN use his knowledge of the future to produce a much better outcome if he actually tries to. Also, unlike Cassie, Sunless, Neph and the rest. Aldric doesn’t have Fate keeping from dying in the Seige so, I don’t see why he wouldn’t pull all the stops to increase the odds for survival for the Dreamer Army that he will help lead.
Aldric really needs to use really needs to stop acting all secretive for no reason and properly put he’s knowledge of the future to good use.
