It's been a while, so I don't remember, but it gets bad around the Ashen Heights Arc. And it gets REALLY bad shortly after the MC's personality change.
That is an extremely shallow way of looking at things. People are not objects that we weigh on a scale. Just because Reinhardt is attractive doesn't even remotely excuse her behavior. She isn't some beast that lacks the ability to make her own choices. That's like exonerating a 🍇ist on the grounds that their victim was too attractive to resist...
Bringing this to the attention of the relevant parties (i.e. her husband) is the right thing to do. It wouldn't be "spreading people's personal affairs" to do so since he has a right to know. I'm sure you would also want to know if your wife was for the streets and was cheating on you. Therefore, yes, it would 100% be extremely evil to punish someone for doing the right thing.
This society is depicted as the average modern urbanized civilization. This is pretty consistent throughout the story. Just because those things exist doesn't change the setting it's based off of. Besides the fantastical elements, people act fairly normally. The exaggerated behaviors of summoners is separated from the average person within the setting. Moreso because summoners just operate based off of overdone tropes.
No, lol. You'll see later, but it is genuinely her plot armor that gets her through. Those resources mean nothing in reality.
Are you being intentionally obtuse, or do you genuinely not understand what I am saying? It has nothing to do with intelligence. This is like saying you shouldn't bother with starting a new paragraph during a scene break because everyone can tell there was a scene break. The knowledge and intelligence of readers has nothing to do with the author's bad writing practices.
It's been a while since I read this, but iirc, her character felt more like a fantasy than something real. Sure, they provided explanations for her behavior, but that's it. Neither the explanations nor the character herself had any complexity. She was just some dude's cheap fantasy of the picture-perfect yandere. To make a good yandere, you need subtlety, something Lily (and this entire novel) is missing. At its core, a yandere is a severely mentally ill character. Mentally ill characters can be some of the best and most compelling characters to read about. But they are also the hardest characters to write. So you often can't get away with amateurish writing when dealing with them. When I say "depth" and "complex," I am referring to the substance of the writing. And I don't believe it is a subjective analysis. Providing explanations for things isn't depth. Have you ever heard the phrase, "as wide as an ocean, as deep as a puddle"? This is an idiom that perfectly encapsulates how I feel about that. You can provide as many explanation as you want, but if your character lacks depth, then they are a bad character. The reason she comes off as such a cringe and cheap character to so many is because she lacks that depth that comes from the various nuances and subtleties that make up a character. I tried my best, but unfortunately words like "subtlety," "complexity," and "depth" are hard to explain in only so many words, especially since it's been so long since I read this novel. You need to take an entire English class to understand them. So if that wasn't enough, we can just agree to disagree. Examples: Yanderes are actually quite rare all things considered. So the reason I liked them so much could have been because I didn't see enough of them to get to the bad apples. There are a few more, but the three I can name off the top of my head are: Arit, Yuno, and Albeto.
That's not true at all. Given the context, I am obviously referring to educated guesses. Half of writing is subtlety. If what you say is true, then 99% of the time we learn about masterpieces in English classes wouldn't be spent dissecting the subtleties within the writing. Instead, those masterpieces would just straight up tell us every single thing we need to know, no matter how obvious.
Lol, the reason why I said I don't know how I feel about it is because I have seen it done countless times before. It's a very common trope and they are always some of the worst arcs.
