If we go by logic, you should be right. XD
Rahul is not a "good" person in the story. He is the leader of the largest criminal faction. While Deepwarden is the antagonist behind political and controlling crimes against the society, Rahul is the kingpin behind truly illicit crimes, such as gambling, drug dealing, and red-light districts. Everything he earns comes from things that aren't "fair."
It took Dryden 10 Earth years to go from Rank E to Rank A.
You have a clear understanding of the point of bringing his father back! There are so many questions to be answered, and Dryden sees his father as the starting point for finding those answers!
A surprise will happen soon!
Canonically speaking, they need to place their hand behind their ear to activate the COMM. Not to mention that it was also stated that using the communicator doesn't guarantee privacy. Thanks for the question!

You probably already know this, but for those who don't, here's the explanation. In this context, "purchase" doesn't mean buying something (of course). Thanks for the feedback! By the time the story reaches around chapter 200, my writing style changes quite a bit. I shifted my focus toward a more straightforward, descriptive tone. Looking back, I admit I used an overly complex vocabulary in the beginning simply due to a lack of experience. Reviews like yours are exactly what helped me grow and build a better story moving forward. I hope you keep reading and notice this progression. Thanks again!
