I appreciate the support, man. I was sad finishing it. It was my first ever attempt at writing a novel, so it is quite special to me.
When I do write these types of scenes, the main thing is to avoid making it sound like a report. Especially when this is first-person. I try to hone in on the senses, mostly touch and sight. I also look at G.R.R Martin's work in Game of Thrones and try to see how he invokes the reader to think of situations like that as a person's memory rather than a narrator.
More so, the way the soldiers experienced it. I mean, you can interpret either way. But when I wrote this, I had it in that this was what the soldiers experienced it from their view.
Shameless Author Review: This is my first time writing this genre and this point of view. I feel like this story has much more depth than my other work. I wish to make this a bit more gritty and dark. No system to help; he is not overpowered. He grows from lessons learned on the battlefield. Each defeat will help him grow, while every victory builds his name. I hope you all enjoy this new novel.
I made this with the idea of appealing to the niche of Napoleonic War lovers.
This is incredible, thank you so much for creating this
I struggled to come up with names, so I used the names of characters from my favourite anime.
Yes, but to avoid confusion when reading, it will just be referred to as Jacque's family rather than openly naming it Luxenberg
One of Victor's children will inherit the lands.
I am so glad someone finally got the reference.
