He's a human, not trillions of terabytes of jard drive. He can't possibly learn hundreds of thousands of weak techniques. It's not efficient at all. Instead of learning so many low level techniques, it's better to learn high level techniques. It's not like he has unlimited energy in his body to use all the techniques at once.
no it's not. If she had said that she will decide whether to admit him in the academy, then it's fine. But the way she speaks sounds like if she doesn't admit him, he will remain a farmer forever. He can just join another academy, even if it lower rank or just contract with more divine beasts and train himself. Even if he doesn't become as powerful as he would become if he were in the academy, he would definitely won't be stuck as a farmer. Then he would become a magic swordsman instead of a magician. And I would definitely avoid physical fight if I had infinite mana. Those who have limited mana or have prior physical combat experience. If I ever need physical combat where someone is resistant to magic or something, I would rather find some summoning skill which lets the person summon strong creatures depending on the amount of mana you use. If I can't find, just getting a high ranked summoning skill is enough for backup.
